In this video I just go over the mindset I have been using to keep my life moving forward in the right direction in spite of my recent injury. I just wanted to share it as I think that it a useful way to look at things whenever life and circumstances take a turn for the worse.

Hi Greg I’m guessing you’re in the 21-23 age category. I worked as a psychiatrist for 24 years and now I’m training t b a life coach Listening to your approach to your injury is encouraging and commendable. Don’t lose track of your goals and aspirations. Continue taking baby steps each day. You’ll likely soon be able to walk again without restrictions. Be kind to yourself and accept any and all assistance that might come your way Until next time Zoltán

Many people would have had nowhere as good a recovery as you're going to. Such a positive outlook, working out how to manage day-to-day living, and just getting on with it will give a deep-seated and real recovery that seems beyond a lot of people. Well done, and keep at it. Try making an appointment with the local federal member of parliament and ask for assistance in getting your visa sorted out.

The issue with muscular injuries is that they never come back 100%, but because you are young and healthy it will come back pretty close - just don't rush it! Thanks again for your content, it's great to see your progress

I was looking forward to your update, so good to see you are determined to be positive and resilient! It's too easy to fall into a negative slump, especially with pain medication! As you are so rescourceful, it's really inspiring to people of all ages! Keep up the great attitude, something good will come next! 🙋👍💯

Wow, you have accomplished a lot! Thank you for this update, please keep us informed. Do you have "Buy Me A Coffee" set up? Your vids are really helpful and informative. They are great at showing the real-life issues, & being by yourself along with doing the self-care aspects while recovering from a fairly serious injury. Please keep us updated when you can. For me, one topic I would like to know about; how you are you navigating the hospital bills, insurance and how that part of the accident is progressing especially when you didn't have travel insurance. If that is too personal no problem. Again, your life hacks are pretty awesome and helpful. If you could tag the vids as an update on the Austrailia Accident with the hit by a Ute (that's a light-hearted tag line) , it would be helpful on your update vids amongst all of the KZbin the alerts we get.

Sure! I might just make channel community posts for updates, but I might do a video once everything is squared away! There is a button next to the like button called “thanks” if you wanted to donate through KZbin ! As far as hospital bills, my claim through workers comp insurance has covered all my medical expenses! I haven’t been able to see what they would have been as the bills go directly to my claim but I am curious!

im in my very early 50s. have a chronic disease and had to retire way before i should have. Anecdotally, i have seen evidence the last 25 odd years the generation has lost whats called resilience. some one stubs their tow and its world ending etc. one thing that gets lost is the only one who will truly look after you, is you, even if some of those decisions you have to make are not the ones you want or would like to. theres a side rub from all of that, you will come out of the other end knowing things you didnt, and having the ability to do things you know you didnt before, when adversity strikes again, you will reflect on this time now and see you can over come.

One of the big positives is having to do everything yourself, also how young and fit you are. All that training you did including riding that pushy you got hit on ironically is paying off right now. Love the house you are in, with the ability to use that chair. Those stairs look very intimidating, so you are doing well getting up and down them. You will find out who your friends are in situations like this, so it's good that you had some. I've broken both my legs on different days years apart. One I wasn't in a good place physically and mentally, and the last one when I was fine. The first one I had someone to look after me, and the recovery was way slower then it needed to be, I relied of the other person too much and didn't do any physio. And the second one I had a mate to hang my washing out and drive me to the shops. But did everything myself, thats the way to go. Was very fit with the second one. I liking the look of that physio you are doing, the knee bend looks great. Just looking at you and where you are physically I'd say you could be back at work in a couple of months. Hopefully you won't need an operation, because I ended up having an operation both times. But yeah everything is looking good for you from where I'm standing.

It seems like I’ll probably need a second surgery to attach my ACL! That’s crazy you’ve broken both legs, how’d that happen? I agree with you I’m glad that I have to more things myself I think it’s keeping me from falling into complacency!

@@gregjameson327 The first one slipped off some wet branches on the back of a truck landed on my left foot straight, then went sort of over to the left breaking a bone in there. Just too much momentum. The second was pretty much the same break but coming of an electric scooter on a wet bridge. My surgery was just putting screws in, not sure about ligament damage sort of stuff. I'm sure they are much better at that sort of stuff now. And being where you are they'd have plenty of experience with that sort of thing up there.

Big G! Excellent progress report! You definitely have a strong positive mindset and are putting it to good use with your recovery. You are right about one thing, having a quality support network makes things so much easier when you're injured but you've shown your resilience as an independent man, ingenuity and ideas to make life easier while in recovery mode. Good job with sticking to the physio plan as that helps massively, especially as you age. All the best with your continuing recovery.

Pls tell other Americans that you barely even come across wildlife let alone the animals that actually kill you because so many Americans and foreigners. Think that everything in Australia kills you when in fact we hardly even get killed by our wildlife. It is things like getting hit by a car that will kill you more so than an animal. And just let Americans know just how good it is to be here in Australia especially in Cairns because my daughter lives in Cairns. I live in South Australia. You should visit Adelaide South Australia that is a really cheap city to live in so you should give Adelaide a go it’s not as hot as Cairns and it’s not humid at all in South Australia

Greg, another great video. You seem like a fine young man...the kind of young man Australia needs. Maybe look into permanent residency at some point when you've recovered from your injury. Plus, if you need to lean on someone financially maybe ask for donations from your subscribers. I'm not sure how you go about doing this but if we all contributed a few dollars then you should have enough to live on for a few months. Let us know!
