Hi Charlie, great to watch from your pov. This is my playground 50 miles from me and I have been doing this for 10s years and never get bored. I think it is as beautiful as anywhere I have been. I still sometimes see a road and just take it. Wales and the Marches bordering Herefordshire and Shropshire is something else. There’s loads more for you to explore honestly. Luckily for me if the sun shines I get on my bike and go. I can see the himmy is perfect for that as you can’t go that fast anyway. My v strom is also fantastic. From 30-120 ( allegedly) in 6 th gear totally tractable twist throttle and enjoy scenery. Just my pov I think there will be more accidents in the 20s as the concentration required takes focus off the drive to the speedo renderingbobservations less. I stand in awe of those Victorian engineers on how they did this, no diggers, just tough men and the brains behind it. That moment u captured the “forgot glasses” is me everytime i go for a meal so have to order the same everytime made me chuckle. Some pubs etc have a box of forgotten glasses where I live😂😂

Hi Charlie, problems starting bikes is not uncommon I think. In 2005 I pulled into a petrol station just outside York. After filling up with petrol, I got on the bike only to find it wouldn't start. I pushed the bike over to the far side of the forecourt so I wasn't in the way of other vehicles. I got the seat off and started checking fuses etc when I finally noticed the kill switch on the handlebars was in the off position. I can only think I must have accidentally hit the switch when I got off the bike . I have been riding motorbikes since 1964 so silly things can happen to anyone. Done the sidestand thing myself once or twice. Maybe its an age thing, at least with me. 🤣🤣

A nice enough video for us to view, well done. I get the feeling that many will say after the 452 Himalayan gets it big Public reveal now within a week. That Royal Enfield got it right, (almost right!) the FIRST time. As great as the new 452 Himalayan will be, the 411 Himalayan is more than good enough for anyone. Though, ideally had Royal Enfield made the 411 a 398cc instead, with a tad bit more compression ratio. This for me would have been a better option. Yet as we know the 411 Himalayan was mostly made for the domestic Indian market, then later on sold on Worldwide around 2018 onwards. So I hear. For the UK, paying the extra cost in the 400 to 600cc vehicle road tax bracket, JUST for about 11cc sticks in my gut far too much. I sadly cannot do it. Just that blows it for me. I have found out that over in India, the motorcycle Insurance are in a few different brackets UP TO 350cc. Then over that amount it does cost quite a bit more. So 411 or 398cc means nothing much to Royal Enfield other than a tad tiny bit more extra hp figure. Yet elsewhere around the World we have become accustomed to Insurance and vehicle road fund licences up to specific cc levels. 400, 600 etc. I say here and now were I to win this Saturdays 28th Oct 2023 £10M+ Lotto jackpot I would purchase in bulk, tens of 411 Himalayans from Royal Enfield and with their consent & approval bring out a 398 Himalayan special that was virtually as the 411 is now. Except sleeved down to a 398cc, higher compression, tad bigger valves, more powerful camshaft, gas flowed cylinder head, better flowing air filters etc attempt to shave 10kg off the kerb weight and bring them out with a few other mods as standard new for basically just the difference in cost with the new parts. All at very near COST price. In a way, making this British Motorcycle that was in the 1950's sold on to India, who now thankfully make their various great models, and then have them imported here and in a way Britishfy the Himalayan up to a 30/30 spec. Which is 30hp and 30 ft/lbs of Torque. Which to me would be just about right for our market. Yes indeed the power output just as it is is not too bad. Plenty powerful & fast enough to end up in traction for 6 to 8 months in hospital, or worse. But, yes a but, but just that tad extra hp & maybe more importantly a bit more torque IN the 411 or rather 398 form would be ideal. It would for me and maybe for others as well. A good 30/30 in below 500cc form in a sub 200kg package with VFM is a hard thing to beat. I have seen a 411 Himalayan recently, my first one all parked up by the roadside and was very impressed with it at first sight. Looked at it for ages, getting it all in. The 'chunkiness' and solid build of it impresses me, AND it has a rev counter, gear indication and so on, onboard compass, directional malarkey, (at least up until a certain year model it was, as standard). Looks like the 411 Himalayan is a nice tidy package that Royal Enfield, so I have learned today, originally in India brought that great bike out in 2016. 7 years of production then, achieving good success Were Royal Enfield to bring out a 398 in the package I describe here alongside the new 452 Himalayan in non domestic markets it would be INTERESTING to see what the sales figures would be. Maybe the new 398 Himalayan would win out over time. (Not counting the pre-Nov 2023 sales!, to be fair). And factoring in the initial 452 sales, that would distort it somewhat, were it too soon of a timespan. Looking at the 452 Himalayan to me the engine would not suit the existing 411 package. It would not fit in, though may well do in the 452 package with all that extra performance. It being as we know a more modern up to date take of the Himalayan that for the younger enthusiast they will likely enjoy. Even older ones will. I predict it will be a bit of a dilemma for some to choose, if the 411 Himalayan production does carry on for a year or two or so. I really do get the feeling though that Royal Enfield got it right, right from the start. Other than those few niggles for the Worldwide market. Royal Enfield got it right for the domestic Indian market, very much granted, but some improvements could have been made for the RoTW. Maybe should have. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please Royal Enfield, bear in mind, best that you 'do' cater for a Worldwide market, considering what the RoTW want. THEN you will 'crack' those markets, even more so than you already are. Fine then, I'm off for my breakfast. A good bit of written 'prose' a day that we BANG OUT, be it read or not read by others, does exercise our minds. It helps in our every day and day to day creativity and 'working out' of matters. Do try it more and you will see the improvement in your lives. "Freedom of Speech", yes, IF we exercise that freedom in both spoken & written form. Saying nothing or saying LESS is what Authority & the 'players' surely WANT. Less blowback on them. Far more easier for them to 'control' us and persuade us to produce and purchase their goods & services. Giving folk an opportunity to read ones prose, putting a GOOD AMOUNT of effort in to it gives folks an option and choice to read something they may enjoy. Be they in agreement or not. We all have OUR VIEWPOINT. As valid as the next no matter who or what we are. To give our viewpoint at times may be the key ingredient missing in the mix of things. We cannot think of everything, the entirety of the individuals of the World may be missing YOUR viewpoint of a matter, that could be of great Importance. I do say best to bang it out, for it may make things better for ourselves and for us all. ------------------------------------------------------------------ A decent enough video then from a motorcycle enthusiast doing their thing. Doing the right thing from the looks of it and on the whole enjoying themselves for the bargain price of that 411 Himalayan & fuel & so on. The value of that Royal Enfield Motorcycle as we see, not just being in the VFM of the machine itself but the places, and indeed the extra places it can traverse in our communities and open countryside. Though not quite as well as what we did see in the nice looking DRONE FOOTAGE, a very nice touch that. Was not expecting that. Such great sights to see out there even near Winter time. Available on an ideal motorcycle such as a 411 Himalayan. Though as said with a £10m+ Lotto win, I would treat many many enthusiasts to a 398.

You have succeeded in some important things for a film/vlog to be both interesting and arouse curiosity in the viewer. But... the powers of the weather are harder to master. It is exactly as I remember it from my time on the small island group out in the North Sea, rain, rain and more rain. I know you don't see it as a small island group, considering what a proud islander exclaimed! "Fog over the English Channel, Europe isolated!" Wales is very beautiful. 😁

This is great. I never hit motorways on the himmy, you won't find nice old pubs on motorways. The whole 20mph thing is just stupid?? Your bike looks well set up.

That was your best footage ever ! So impressive Charlie. Not sure how it was done when you were both riding over the dam with the drone in the air, very very well done 👏 as always, ride safe 😊

I keep wondering how you Brits are coping with the rain. It's like rain isn't bothering you guys at all.I take my hat off for that. When it's raining at the start I don't even bother putting my gear on, if the rains starts when I'm on the road, well that's just bad luck, but frankly I hate it. Keep that spirit it up Charlie 👍👍

I think it's something you just live with here! If I didn't ride when it rains, I'd hardly ever get out! 😊

Ooooo, Charley, that looks wetter than an otter’s pocket 🫤. What drone are you using?
