A Motorhome Trip to Camping Domaine De Gil in the Ardeche Region of France

Well it was time to leave Camping Du Domaine on the Mediterranean Coast and start the drive back North to the Eurotunnel. The first site we headed for was Camping Domaine De Gil which was £20.31 for 1 night with EHU and water on pitch.
This was a really lovely site on the river banks and it provides some really excellent facilities. We were travelling just before the French holidays when sites are quieter - if you can do that it's a good option!!
A quiet and peaceful night and, as you'll see, probably on the 'use again' list if we are passing by!! :)

Do you book all these places ahead of time? I want to spend 6 weeks this summer in Europe but can't work out whether to book every night or have a bit of freedom / leeway.

Many thanks for watching Stephen 😁 We do a mix of both. If we wanted to stay somewhere for any length of time over say 4 days, then I’d want more facilities on the pitch so we didn’t have to move the van to empty grey waste or refill fresh etc so in 2022 I booked the 2 twelve nighters we did in France and Croatia so I could choose the site, the pitch facilities, the electric amperage on pitch and local shopping etc so we didn’t have to move the van - a good chill out!! Anything less you could travel pretty freely - hence I’m upgrading solar too this year - so we can off grid more! We aim to travel before and after the French hols which means getting pitches is much easier so your travel window also dictates choices. With Aires, Park4Night, PitchUp, ACSI and with FB posts I save for good park ups, you could travel with that freedom. Europe very much welcomes mohos- way more than the UK 😁🚌🚌 which is also very relevant! Just avoid motorway aires which aren’t apparently very friendly!!

@@motorhomingadventures Thanks guys. I would just panic that I'd turn up somewhere to find it full and not have enough time to find somewhere else. I guess you get used to it. Loving your videos - certainly plan on Croatia, looks fantastic.

It was very much so and all those places in between. Yes I think we judge on UK moho experience but it’s much more welcoming. I often got on the apps first thing in the morning and just rang ahead and that then gives you the leave of mind there is something when you get there - the apps are great for that 😁👍
