Also the disassociation thing too! I find grounding yourself in your environment is really good. Finding one sensory thing to focus on and going through all your senses and reassuring yourself works pretty well. It’s usually the result of uni stress and too much time online for me so whenever it happens I will just shut off for a while, ring home and do something I know I enjoy.

AlWAYS! remember to put your mental and physical health first! I think one of the most amazing aspects of your channel is your honesty and videos like this are so important not just for you but for your subs because it reinforces the message that it is OKAY not to be OKAY! I have just recently had to ask for two extensions on essays and I felt like such a failure especially when people around me seemed to be coping so well and this video has helped me reinforce the importance of putting my health first! I'm sending so much love and support your way!! and Thank you so much for allowing yourself; and in turn allowing others to be human! SO much love Eve xxxxxxx

This was really nice to watch as it made me feel like I’m not alone and somewhat helpful at the same time. This has been one the worst terms in my life, and with my A-levels fast approaching I just got so worried, as with you, my diet got bad and I basically went on a downward spiral, feeling tired everyday and not getting much done. At the same time, your optimism of moving forward, recognising what you must stop doing along the acknowledgment of perfectionism just also automatically helps me reflect on my life itself. Now that my halfterm has started I plan on getting my life back together. A-levels have and my tiredness have kept me busy so haven’t seen much of your videos recently, but I hope everything goes well in your exams and you keep enjoying your time at Oxford.

Love the update, you are such a real, down-to-earth person and share life as it happens! So awesome you’re thinking about journalism, there’s so much you can do in that field, especially with your studying other languages, you could travel and report the news or even be a translator! I hope they figure out what’s making you ill, being physically ill, whether an allergy or something else can really weigh on your mental health and it’s understandable you had a bit of a low time! I know it’s not easy as a KZbinr putting ourselves out there but try to not let the negative folks get to you, keep strong and take care of you for that’s who matters most, not the negative folks! You’re amazing and just so inspirational! Hang in there, Eve! 💛

I totally relate to the giving up thing! I'm in year 13 currently and up until a month ago i was doing biology, chemistry, physics and maths a-levels, but i decided to drop physics. It honestly crushed me to drop physics because I had worked so hard to get a half decent grade thus far, and i was so convinced that i was going to do 4 alevels, and all in all it felt like dropping it was giving up and i simply dont like giving up. It honestly made me feel so sick inside that i was even considering dropping and i had numerous breakdowns during the process (in front of my parents, my physics teacher, head of sixth form, all on different occassions). But now i know it was the best decision i could have made because having to do so much work was stressing me out beyond compare, especially when i could see my friends who were only doing 3 subjects having time to do extra revision and such whereas i was barely keeping afloat. A few weeks prior to dropping i had got an offer from cambridge, which has been my dream for years, and because of the high grades i needed to get in every subject but physics, it felt stressful and unnecessary. I feel much more secure and less stressed now, even though i realistically know i could have done 4 a-levels. I'm glad youre feeling better now! I'm looking forward to revision videos and i hope everything goes well in your prelims! 💙

So happy to see your genuine smile back, Eve! Looking forward to more videos (not vlogs) about your Oxford life during Trinity. Eve, you’re a very inspiring girl and I wish you all the best. Well done on managing all those pressures. With dissociation May I mention a few tips? No need to fight it, it’s a mechanism just trying to protect you. Let it flow in and away, it lessens in time; meanwhile direct your attention onto stuff you love and that ‘lights you up’ (there’s a book by an inspirational woman whose name escapes me at the moment). I can testify this works. Thanks again for all your efforts 🙂🙏

Hi Eve. Your vlogs were great and maybe too real for some. Don't worry about about carrying about what people commented all of do and the negative ones tend to stick. A lot of student life is about exploring, maybe drinking bit much and eating poorly or not sleeping much. Now you know it doesn't work for you will adapt. Keep your post, I loved them and I felt connected with you. Because didn't hide what wasn't perfect I watched without getting bored. Good luck with your revision

I’m glad you’re feeling somewhat better! Don’t worry too much about your life habits and whatnot that went wrong last term. You (we, I’m only a 25 yo postgrad myself) are so young and just looking for ways to live life in a way that balances everything, and suits you. I haven’t had as many issues with time management (although the perfectionist in me always thinks I could have studied more), because I’m not much of a party-goer (which made me judge you, but as soon as I had those judgy thoughts I felt guilty; sorry for even thinking them), but I’ve struggled in other parts, e.g. spending money wisely. We all struggle :) anyway, I did want to say: you be you, just go on your intuition and feeling. It might still be a good idea to look for the Oxford uni counselling service. Not because you’re that bad mentally, but because just a few sessions can make you feel a 100 times better, I say that from experience! Chin up and onwards!
@floraice115 жыл бұрын
Journalism is perfect for you! I totally agree with your decision to stop the vlogs, social media is a powerful tool but it can also be so insidious at the same time. I deleted Instagram six months ago and haven’t looked back since, I can’t imagine what it’s been like for you being in the public eye basically 7 days a week. Honestly if there’s one good thing out of the vlogs it’s that it’s made me get over my own Oxford rejection, irony of ironies. I definitely couldn’t function under the pressure you describe in your vlogs, I’m always marveling at how you’ve made it through the week at the end of it and I’m always throughly glad that I didn’t get in. I really do think Oxford are insane, trying to shorten their terms like that’ll increase their rep while killing their students to do it. Keep doing what you’re doing Eve, it definitely sounds like you’re headed in the right direction ❤️❤️❤️

The thing is that people need to understand and it's not just with you Eve, it's with any other youtuber tbh that , if you really like the youtuber you wouldn't do the thing's that makes them uncomfortable especially when they've opened up about it . e.g you said people criticising your life choices gets to you ... so why are people doing it ?? i really don't understand ... i'm not talking about haters .. i'm taking about people who consider themselves real followers or fans etc .... why do that?
