It's beautiful that God's Word must be taken seriously in every sentence, word, letter, and even punctuation. There would be times that a statement would confuse us, resulting for us to wonder why it's there. However, as you look deeper to God's Word with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you will see that there is truly nothing that you must miss when meditating on His beautiful and eternal Word. May we pray that we continue to see God's glory in His Word. In our personal, Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ's name, AMEN!!!

Jack Hall May God continue to Bless you! Always Know that God is Good, God is Great, YAHWEH is AWESOME! We have vision, we can see colors, we Have strength through Him, We can Hear and Love, For God is Love and Love is Real! James 3 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

I would note the writer, and agree with Pastor John MacArthur on this, probable an innocent bystander who heard commotion, got caught up and ran away naked, why it was recorded, in a sense it shows us that it was a historical account, not just a story, but the points Pastor John piper is making a very good ones also :)

I have a different interpretation of that man's faith here for Jesus. He did his part in the very moment of time. Praise God

The answer is in the usage of the Greek word "sidon." It is used ONLY in the context of a special cloth that was used to wrap the dead bodies back then. This was Lazarus wearing grave clothes as a costume to identify himself to those who had come to Jerusalem to see both Jesus and Lazarus.

They must've been uniquely beyond terrified in this unique event since there have been people in history death- threatened who were loyal to the end.

The dislike is the naked man
@jrge93595 жыл бұрын
The man had nothing, but a cloth. It was his hast thing he had when choosing to walk with Jesus as a disciple. He lost everything completely when Jesus was taken. Nakedness, vulnerability, fear, insecurity, hopelessness. The disciples put everything they had into Jesus, even faith in their next meal. If that is gone, what is left?

The key to these verses is the young man was made naked, innocence. No longer maintaining the world (clothing). Aka Adam n Eve. Jesus is total innocence, yet he still holds the world about him. But soon to be cast away, like the young man who casts away his clothing, most likely by himself being forced to leave them in order to escape. You could even surmise the Father God seeing Jesus losing his innocence on the cross, Being stripped naked physically as well as His innocence leaving Him as His body is crushed in predestined agreement with the Father.

I do see a connection to the garden as well. When Adam and eve sinned in the garden as they disobeyed, they were clothed in shame. When Jesus obeyed, he made us all sinless and the man lost his "fig leaves."

John if you look at Mark 16:5 you will find the young man , the linen inside the sepulcher of Jesus.

When the soldier ask for Jesus and Jesus said "I Am" the power released when he said those words was enough to knocked all the soldiers (possible 600 plus) that were there down to the ground. There are graves located close to the garden and I think this boy had died and the power that was released when Jesus said "I Am" was enough to knock down the solders and resurrect a boy that had died and had been recently buried. The boy was naked with a linen cloth or burial shroud because that is the way Jewish people are buried. They wash and clean the body, anoint with spices and wrap in a linen cloth. The soldier tried to seize him because they really didn't need the report of another resurrection while they were arresting Jesus. The boy wondered into the area of the arrest trying to figure what was going on because here he was alive again. It said he followed from a distance. He probably wondered who this was that had resurrected him.

Back to the original question about who was he, why was he mentioned. The father and the son are one in the holy ghost. The lennon cloth should reveal who he was, that the terrible moment was not allowed by the father to take his life untill the appointed time. The father by the holy ghost went with the soldiers till being reuniting by the holy ghost( which we can't tell if immediate or delayed). Remember that times are under the power of the father. On the cross the father forsook him only to raise him from the grave. Show us the father. "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? " .....if this could be wrong, then, show me.......The only beggotton son of God rules and reigns in heaven above. Jesus went up into heaven to sit at the father's right hand. Do you know which way is up? How can you look up to him if haven't got the spiritual navigational orientation it takes to see him. Find the King to find the kingdom. Search. Hasn't scripture told us where the kingdom of heaven is? God is awsome, I love him. Jesus is Lord.

It Is symbolic , as the pastor mentions , the symbology is a spiritual death of the young man because he realized he had worshiped the false Christ when he saw the true Christ Jesus , that's why he ran naked with shame , remember the antichrist comes at the 6th trumpet sound , just before the true Christ , and many will think it's Jesus and worship him ; the linen cloth is symbolic for death and naked with shame is how ye shall walk without righteous acts ; when a Christian worships the devil he is no longer a Christian , he dies a spiritual death , righteous acts are how we are dressed in Heaven , they are all lost if one worships the antichrist when he arrives . I'm sure the young man wanted mountain's to fall on him .

It was night. Jesus saw the approaching soldiers with torches and lanterns and knew what was about to happen. Judas kissed Jesus, and Jesus admonished Judas as a betrayer. Then Jesus spoke to the soldiers and admitted that He is Jesus, the man they were looking to arrest. Jesus moved forward to go with the soldiers. One soldier, without being ordered, attempted to bind Jesus hands behind Him. That was when Peter drew his sword but Jesus instructed Peter to put down the sword because everything that was going to happen was supposed to happen. No ear was cut off. If it was that man would have been killed by the soldiers. The followers did not fight although Peter was going to but this was seen as cowardice so it was written that they, at least, cut off an ear. The captain then gave the order to arrest Jesus followers but they fled into a ravine. Remember it was night time. A follower named John Mark was hiding in a shed when a soldier approached it. John Mark attempted to flee but the soldier was able to grab his coat so John Mark freed himself from the garment and fled naked. Peter followed well behind Jesus and the soldiers to the courtyard of the high priest and Peter then sat with the servants warming themselves by the fire.

Judas didn't betray Christ Jesus.

The naked man was the Jesus himself. It was dark and the man they had seized was in fact, Judas Iscariot!! Judas and Christ Jesus looked almost like twins.
