Fun fact: the olive trees in the area believed to have been Gethsemane (no one is precisely sure where that is) are the oldest olive trees in the world, and at least 900 years old. There's also the possibility that these trees began from sprouts of the trees that were present when Jesus was in the garden 2000 years ago.

From the 'Metaphysical Bible Dictionary': Meta. The struggle that takes place within the consciousness when Truth is realized as the one reality. All the good is pressed out and saved and the error is denied away. This is often agony--the suffering that the soul undergoes in giving up its cherished idols or in letting go of human consciousness. The great work of every one is to incorporate the Christ mind in soul and body. The process of eliminating the old consciousness and entering into the new may be compared to Gethsemane, whose meaning is oil press, press for extracting unguents and ointments; a press is an emblem of trial, distress, agony, while oil points to Spirit and illumination.

How are subjective spiritual experience and faith reliable methods of coming to truth when they are used in almost every religion?

Latter-day Saints believe that all good comes from God. It even says this in the Bible. We also believe that every person is born with the Light of Christ as is stated in John 1:9. This Light of Christ is what many identify as our conscience. It is an inborn awareness of right and wrong, good vs evil, moral or immoral. This is part of the consciousness of every individual in every faith tradition. It is our belief that the truths and good in any religion come from the same God. So no conflict here at all. To the extent any person in any faith tradition follows or obeys their conscience they are following Christ, whether they call it that or not. As they do so, they are led to greater truths and eventually will be led to accept the Book of Mormon and the covenant gospel of Christ. This may happen in this life or in the spirit world following mortality. Does that answer your question?

If he is coming to an incorrect conclusion then how do you know that you are coming to the correct conclusion when you use the same method?

@@dukeofsahib4967 It's not easy at first. Discerning spiritual influences takes a lot of intellectual as well as spiritual effort. When a member of any faith tradition senses good in part of that tradition it is natural to assume that everything associated with that good part is also good. Then when we experience or learn something within that tradition that conflicts with our natural intuitive sense of morality, we tend to rationalize that it must be us that is wrong. If we are only acquainted with the one faith tradition we started with, we just need to navigate the best we can and God understands. LDS believe that after this life in the spirit world everyone is given exposure to the fullness of his plan of happiness with ample opportunity to accept or reject it. If in this life we are blessed with opportunities to evaluate other faith traditions, it is good to take advantage of that blessing. The more we learn and respond positively to new ideas that also are intuitively good to us, our spiritual ability to discern grows. Our intellect allows us to evaluate these feelings about these ideas and discern what is good and what isn't. Our spiritual ability to discern is enhanced whenever we act in accordance to what we sense is morally good and is diminished whenever we act counter to that moral compass. The best way to test the claims of any faith tradition is to incorporate the behaviors suggested into our lifestyle and see if it brings forth the fruits in our lives that it claims. Jesus said, "If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself". When we improve in our willingness to sacrifice unproductive, but comfortable habits of behavior in attempting to follow what we sense is right, we put ourselves in a position to recognize God's voice as He answers our prayers. When a person in that situation sincerely and prayerfully reads the Book of Mormon, they will easily recognize that God is its source.

I do not know what bible you are referring to but in Luke 22:44, it says, "He prayed more fervently, and he was in such agony of spirit that his sweat fell to the ground LIKE great drops of blood", not ( as it were), there are no words in the bible such as these, there was no bloodshed in the Garden. Why are you not telling the truth, why are you making Gethsemane the focus of the atonement when Jesus died on the cross, he suffered and shed his blood for us, that is where the atonement took place, our salvation took place on the cross, not in a garden. The fact that you do not acknowledge the sacrifice and Christ's blood is shocking. God sent his Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross so we could be forgiven of our sins and so we could also have eternal life.

That is what it says in the KJV Bible, it isn’t a lie. Why falsely turn this into an accusation when he didn’t deny cross or the blood of Christ? If you are a Trinitarian then you believe Jesus was one being with an immaterial infinity and he didn’t have the love and freewill to suffer for us or to obey or love the Father. It takes two freewill beings with choice to love, but the private interpretation that Jesus and the Father are the same being makes that logically impossible.

As per the video, the Book of Mormon (in addition to the Bible) influences what Latter-day Saints believe about Gethsemane. If you're not a Latter-day Saint, then you might understandably disagree. But also as per the video, we absolutely acknowledge Christ's suffering and the blood he shed for us. We simply believe it happened in Gethsemane AND on the cross. This video (as I mention in the video) was not intended to delve much into the controversy of Gethsemane versus the cross, nor was it intended to detract from the huge significance of the cross. But either way, at the end of the day, we join with you in being eternally grateful for our Savior, Jesus Christ, who satisfied the demands of justice in our place.
