I'm 40 years old. I graduated from a local private Christian high school, and later I graduated from a local mega church bible school and its 2nd year internship, and in that church I sat in nearly 3 sermons a week for nearly 10 years straight. But only now, after leaving mega church #1 & then mega church #2 behind, only after being told of Pastor John and the vast resources at Desiring God by a colleague and now dear friend of mine, I've spent 22 months listening to Pastor John's preaching and teachings online, only now am I learning to read my Bible correctly. And oh! what a miracle it is to know and fellowship with the Risen Christ, even and especially in my current pain & sufferings and in much affliction. Because the steadfast love of GOD is better than life, my lips will praise you. 'And all the things of this world grow strangely dim, in the light of his glory and grace.' 💯❤️✝️

The immensity of such quickening ... is joy unspeakable and full of Glory! The earnestness in the orchestration of your words displays the movement of the Holy Spirit... It is that certain significance that is a thread among all who are indwelled; indeed, it is a Stream... for even more than simply a tie that binds, it actually moves in and through each and every... who has been breathed upon through the Gospel and as with the rest of The Word, is a peculiar Glory that is theopneustos of which Piper is a conduit. Yours was quite an enjoyable narrative. Soli deo Gloria

Were you tricked into believing we are under the law and need to keep the 10 commandments to be saved? I honestly never fully believed that and I think it might be a curse to believe we are saved only if we believe in jesus and then also keep the 10 commandments believing if we don't keep them continually Jesus will tell us to depart from him I think its a great idea to try to follow 10 commandments best you can but I'm a little confused if anyone wants to tell me what they believe you need to do to be saved
@charlesrhoades86393 жыл бұрын
@@HeckinnD In order to be saved all we must do is repent (Luk. 13:1-5), which is to recognize our evil works and utter depravity. Recognize the punishment for that sin and evil, (Rom. 2:5-11, Rom. 6:23, 2 Thes. 1:8-10, Heb. 10:28-30) which is everlasting destruction apart from God under His wrath. Atop this believing that Christ has taken upon Himself all of this wrath, this judgement, this separation from God, even though He did not deserve this. Christ came and lived a perfect life experiencing our pain and temptations, yet remained sinless (Heb. 4:15-16). He was then rejected, abandoned, denied, spat upon, beaten, betrayed, hung on a cross, and for three hours experienced the wrath we all deserve (Mat. 26-27). He then died, Almighty Ruler and King, dead, that now we may be free from sin if we believe (John. 8:36, Rom. 6:1-14, Col. 1:13-23). And if we believe we are free from the wrath we were once under for He is the sacrifice for sins, offering His perfect blood the Spotless Lamb which is necessary for forgiveness (Eph. 1:7-8). He then, after three days rose from the dead, conquering death, that now we may be alive to Christ, to live by the Spirit, (Rom. 6:1-14, 1 Cor. 15), He was then glorified, He reigns on high having all power and dominion, all authority having been given to Him (Mat. 28:18, Phil. 2:5-11). If you believe these things, that Jesus has died for your sins, for you are evil and broken and wretched, that by believing you shall receive eternity with Him, forgiveness of sins, rather than the eternity in hell we deserve. Then you shall be saved, and despite your evil shall be made blameless and perfect before Him, (Eph. 2, 1 Tim. 1, 1 Cor. 15:3). Now, as a christian, in response to all He has done, offer your members a living sacrifice, live worthy of the calling with which you're called, and lay. down your life, (Eph 4, Rom. 12:1, Mat. 16, Mat. 10, Luke. 14).

I fear I don't have love for others in my heart but rather what I can have. I try hard to love, but sometimes things that relieve me in mind I tend to love more. People stress me out, and unfortunately sometimes that makes it hard for me to love them correctly . Please pray God gets ahold of my heart to love. I want to love, but not worldly love, but hopefully Godly love I pray, in Jesus name amen!

Abide in Jesus daily by digging into His Word daily to produce fruit, as Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. To produce fruit, we must abide in Him, and Him in us. Pastor Piper, I have been up chronic pain patient for the last 30 years. Started with my head with something called occipital neuralgia and continued on with my whole body when I I was fortunate enough to get fibromyalgia( of course, I don't feel all that fortunate. LOL) I love the Lord and I can taste him however this has been very difficult for me and my family we're battle-scarred. One of my biggest issues is my inability to read the word, pray, stay awake for a sermon in church because of pain in my head and because fibromyalgia cause great tightness in your neck and shoulders it just causes my head to be headache and unclear. In addition the very that cake since I take to deal with my issues also cause sleepiness and lack of clarity. I am so grateful that the Lord has seen fit to allow so many great sermons and so many great teachers like yourself on the internet. I listen to sermons quite often everyday and Hope oh, very much, this will feel my need. My pastor, who understands my issues very well, doesn't feel that my inability to experience the three methods of race will inhibit my inability to know and love the Lord. And frankly, I'm holding on to that tightly. Now I have to be honest, I am able to read small sections but get frustrated when I have to stop so, I guess I avoid it. I would appreciate your thoughts on this. thank you very much

Although I am Catholic and go to church on Sundays, the only way how to find God and follow him is through the permanent prayers. Silent prayers when I go to work, at work, at home or go to sleep. When I started this model I went through the hard times, failed on my knees many times, but I was always able to get up and go on. The Holly Spirit will lead you. He never leaves you alone. Never.

The letter of the law vs the heart of the law. One of the most dangerous doctrines in the church today is follow the letter of the law to such an extent that the heart is ignored. Without the law there would be anarchy. But when over emphasized there is hurt and discouragement and a lack of mercy which turn people away from God.

To understand what God means when He says a thing is a matter of revelation. Not to say that there is something hidden in the Word contrary to what's plainly narrated. But the matter is, it's the reader's view/vision of God and His character that decides your understanding of His Word. The FEAR of the LORD is the beginning of Wisdom.... True wisdom here meaning understanding of God's word as He intends it to be understood. This is within easy access of every believer. You don't need seminary degrees or..whatever it is that people boast about.... Simple men and women of God have had deep understanding of His word because they know Him. These are unknown to most while here on earth... But of the well known too, God has given us many luminaries like AW Tozer, Spurgeon, Leonard Ravenhill...etc.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Psalm 119:18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. Paul counted everything he had learned from man, and his position in life, as dung (shit) Only the things of God were of any worth. Psalm 119:127 Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold. Men will travel half way across the world to get gold out of the dirt, and leave it all behind when he dies. We can just open God's Word to get gold we can take with us to heaven. The Word of God endures for ever. Study to show yourself approved unto God. Hang on to every Word of God, it is the only thing we can actually do, that lasts.
