Christopher O'Connor It was never intended to be accessed during normal gameplay. It a shame during the ea greed that so many things were cut off from the game(like some other crews who had bosses like the scorpion) so they could rush the deadline. They also cut off some particle effects and fog which would’ve added more atmosphere the game. Last but not least the cops and bounty needing to pay a larger role in the game and not an afterthought.

You answered your own question. It looks good so it makes sense for a remaster. It would be cheap and easy, there’s time and resources for tons of improvements and new features (ahem customization) and had, hands down the best PVP in the franchise. The 2010 numbers speak for itself it outsold GT5 on its home platform alone.

YES exactly my man. I love the retro NFS games, Need for Speed is not all about customization/story and hasn’t always been that way. That’s why I like about the NFS series so much is that there are variety layers of NFS themes that is not one sided and appeals to all generations of NFS fans and newcomers alike. I love cars and racing games so much it really don’t bother me at all. If they remaster NFS 1 to 6 in a HD collection with online play then it’s a immediate buy. And it will also build appreciation to all fans and newcomers of Need For Speed’s history, how far it evolved to this day and continuing forward. I’m glad their remastering HP 2010 though I miss this game.

Why is everyone so intent on the likes of Most Wanted being remastered? I can tell you with a fair amount of certainty, they're not. They may tackle a spiritual successor one day, who knows. Licensing is the main problem, EA won't want to tackle that shit. Hot Pursuit did well financially and critically and was a success. I am happy it is getting a remaster. I hope it does really well.

This is actually my Favorite NFS game after most wanted. When I think about playing need for speed my mind goes to most wanted and Hot pursuit. In terms of pure racing I side with hot pursuit more.

Fans have already explained why Hot Pursuit will get a remaster. The licensing for Underground and MW is gone and therefore we will probably never get remasters of them unless EA or whoever the devs are pay for the licensing again. The ones doing the remaster only have access to Criterion's work so at the most a Most Wanted 2012 will be remastered along with Hot Pursuit

Kind of feel like you answered your own question. Older games would take actual work to bring them up to the current standard. They can just toss in the higher quality textures they probably still have laying around and Hot Pursuit would look great. Would be nice to see them upgrade free roam with actual chases and things to do.

Yeah the game was so fun Theo is just like a ricer crybaby I remember playing online races at Xbox Live in the exotics category it was so awesome plus this is the last NFS which was genuinly awesome and it doesn't use frostbite it's the Burnout Paradise engine which is used with a few tweaks here and there and if u ask me HP2010 is miles better than The Run

He actually acknowledges that stock / exotic cars came before UG, but he just says that he's always liked tuners / modified low-end cars more, and that the series means that to him. I do disagree with Theo, in that I think he's too dismissive towards the classic NFS games, but HP2010, MW2012 and Rivals are not the roots of NFS. They took the image of the classic NFS games, then tore down all the gameplay elements / mechanics targeted specifically at car enthusiasts, and turned them into casualized combat racing, using aspects from Burnout, when the way they design the game / mechanics doesn't achieve what made Burnout games so good.

Even though I love Need For Speed Hot Pursuit that funding for a remaster could be for for updates for a food modern game like Heat add more cars and races. IMO that's really all Heat needs

TBH I would like a NFSMW 2012 like game, but you add 15 more boss cars, best being Jesko or Regera, maybe even a Divo or Senna. If you find cars you have to buy them with in game cash, you also get speed points for every different car you find and buy. Upgrades you can still unlock from races but you also have to buy them to continue. 1st in a race 10k speed points and 10k coins, 2nd 7,5k speed points and 7,5k coins, 3rd 2,5k speed points and 2,5k coins, 4th or more none. Add garages and customisation options, 50/50 tuner and super cars around 200-250 cars. You also have to shut down boss cars and buy them. Set in Alaska or a snowy area of the U.S.A. Or change it up with another country. Boss cars start from 250k speed points and end at 10mil speed points. Boss cars need a certain level of the car, different cars have different beginning levels. Start with a Nissan Fairlady at level 78. Same nitrous as heat, 1, 21lb now and 7, 3lb. High heat races every racer for himself/herself. Character customisation and character choosing. Short pre-main story line 3 - 4 hrs and a 7 - 10 hrs main story line. Also side story lines after both main story lines are complete. 1st boss needs a car level of 175 to race, final 500+, 100 more upgrade levels. Super aggressive cops in both day and night. Automatic day/night cycle. Harder races at night easier in day. I’ll edit when something else comes up. Like and reply under if you like my idea or would like to improve it.

NFS Shift had a great balance of tuners vs super cars. If you upgrade every component on your lower end car, you could 'works convert' it, where it would become a higher tier and compete against much faster cars. The game also had a great car progression where you could upgrade components and watch your car transform inside and out from a stock road car to an amazing race car.

I know Theo has a love/hate relationship with supercars being plentiful in NFS, but honestly I've always felt that the best NFS is a NFS that has tons of both high end and low end vehicles that can be customized and built to be at comparable levels. As much as I love tuner cars and car culture, to the point that I've hated the supercar-only nature of the criterion games and such, I still do enjoy and love the exotic hypercars and fast bois. Who doesn't feel like a beast tricking out their lambo, streamlining their Ferrari and dominating the streets of NFS in their Porsche? These high end brands and vehicles have a huge place in Need for Speed that can't be understated, but so too do the RX8s, BRZs, R35s and 350Zs. I know he said that a balance is bearable as long as low end cars are plentiful, but I believe its more a case of a balance being necessary. I haven't had any faith in Criterion's ability to make a NFS game that embraces car culture fully, incorporating both high end and low end vehicles, however I hope that with the new faces at Criterion and the talent that has moved over from Ghost, perhaps they can actually make the perfect Need For Speed that we've been waiting for so long and not just another Most Wanted 2012.

@@f687sNFM Rivals were great games. Something new, exciting with amazing graphics and nice handling. Just wished racers were faster and more aggressive and cops not as aggressive. I can only say that Ug2, Mw 2005, Hot pursuit 2010 and Heat were better. Carbon was as good, but Everything else were shit in comparison to Rivals.

As much as I would love a Underground 2 remaster, I doubt EA has any interest (for some reason). Hot Prusuit (2010) is a good game though, like the one thing that the new games are lacking is playable cops. Part of the series identity is cops vs racers.

Tbh I would really love to see a 2010 hot pursuit remake, especially with today's sports cars, supercars and hypercars. And especially what Theo said, due to ghost's nfs games I was being more attracted to the tuner cars so I do like a bit of both, with like bodykits, custom exhausts, *BIG WANGS* and all types of customisation parts. Also the graphics were really good too even for 2010. Imagine what that could look like in 2021! It was the only nfs game I would hop on daily and speed down Mission Beach and the remake of it would just be astonishing
