These are the type of animated films I want more of, where its audience isn't treated idiotically, and can entertain both children and adults.
@drdewott91543 жыл бұрын
Yes! I mean that's what makes a family feature after all. I mean in that case I think I can reccomend the Checkered Ninja movies from Denmark or perhaps Ronal the Barbarian. They're a tad raunchy compared to British and American studios especially but are pretty good at striking that balance with a lot of heart within. Danish animation in general while lower quality due to their small budgets does often seem good at striking that balance.

R.I.P. Blue Sky, the majority of their films were really good. One that really stood out to me was Rio. We don't get a lot of movies about birds. Edit: plenty of people are saying stuff like “go watch happy feet” or something, just saying there aren’t a lot of movies about birds, especially if you compare it to the amount of movies about mammals there really isn’t enough. Reptiles and fish suffer the same fate. Also a lot of movies about birds are inaccurate or bad/meh/not rewatchable like happy feet and the angry birds movie 2 (ok I’ll admit it I liked the angry birds movie, people call it terrible but it is a decent film. In the 2nd movie Red falls in love with silver who is a different species of bird, also it is angry birds not love birds! Edit: that was a really long edit

Not Blue Sky studios related but If you want a good animated movie about birds. I highly recommend Leafie a hen into the wild. It is a hand drawn Korean animated film based on a children's novel about a hen who escaped from a farm to leave out in the meadows to raise an orphan duckling who's parents got killed by a vicious hungry weasel. It is a very well done film for its beautiful animation and environments, great cast of characters, heart warming story, some surprisingly dark moments for a childerns film, and a few funny moments such as visual gags & toilet humor (no really). It's like the Korean counterpart to Bambi and the Land before Time. Overall I highly recommend watching the original Korean dub of the movie as the English dub changes some of the characters names, dialogue, and cuts scenes out like one major toilet joke and the original ending (to be fair, there are 2 versions of the Korean version with one having the original ending and the other one not). But yes! If you love birds then this movie is a must. 🌼🐔🦆🦦

Ron's Gone Wrong is one of those movies I was super skeptical about. The animation in the beginning and me worried (simply due to the art style being similar to others that were milked dry), but it was surprisingly relatable. I'm 20, so past middle school, but I think there's a lot of realism to this movie that I can relate to. The popular girl who acts nice to appear nice but is really just mean, the prankster guy who doesn't understand he isn't as funny as he thinks he is, ext. You really think there's that much overlap between their intended audiences? And, sure, there are plenty of people who will go see both (myself included), so how does the existence of either movie hurt the other?

The curse of the wear rabbit, watched it as a kid and still love it's cheesy scripting and the "animation", KZbin won't allow me to write the proper technique, anyways CHEESE

After watching the movie myself, I say that parts of it were definitely rushed or not expanded upon with sudden cuts in the story where the climax or end goal changes rapidly. However it is still fun to watch and teaches good lessons on the positives and negatives of social technology that kids can pick up on and follow. It really is about learning how friendships can form without having to have high social status or use of social media while showing both how it can bring people together but also cause a lot of harm when misused.

At 09:10 the background music is from the Simcity 2013 game soundtrack, by Chris Tilton. Totally recommended it, beautiful orchestral pieces.

Wow they have a lot of talent in their studio. As Palpatine once said. "We will watch your career with great interest."

This movie was really good and funny. It was lighthearted and made me chuckle as an adult. The things that made me laugh weren’t all secret sex jokes either. Sometimes it was just more mature jokes or rom being dumb lol

I saw trailers of this last year and thought it was a dumb repeat of another technology robot friend movie. Completely forgot about it. Watched it on HBO max during breakfast today with no expectations. I was surprisingly hooked after Ron beat up the kids at the park lol then it got more thoughtful after every major act. Definitely better than I expected.

This studio seems to have potential, yeah this movie's predictable, but you can tell they actually care.

This deal with between Double Negative and Locksmith Animation is still a thing, and DNEG was providing animation services for their future movies. They worked on "Ron's Gone Wrong" and it was their first collaboration with Locksmith.

i know i'm two years late but i finally decided to watch RGW and it was actually very good! the entire end with Ron in the woods was incredibly well done actually! I could feel the emotion in the scenes, the way he began to break down when Ron ran out of battery and The panic attack he had that triggered his asthma (and how that made his rescue from the woods even more important)
