When I first watched this, I immediately remembered that in the Dragon Ball Super Manga (CH 69), Moori told the Namekian children that their race came from a different realm altogether.

Kabito kai for sure needs to be a thing before super happens, I reckon they defused them so the supreme kai can have pure interactions with his brother and sister... maybe. also its neat that although the potara have a time limit, its not what defused Goku and vegeta in Z , it actually was Buus magic! so it both are a thing, and this is not a retcon. The dragon balls in this episode are stone meaning its after that wish but before they recharged.
