Nice looking pick up mason. The farm is going red haha. A couple times a year pull your tail lights out. Be careful so you don’t break the tabs in them. But shine a light inside your fender well and wash them out with a pressure washer get any dirt and salt off the inner fender well so it doesn’t start to rust out

Clifford the big Red Dog. I love it. My family used to always name our vehicles. This doesn't apply to you guys. What does the 4 X 4 mean on the box of the truck of grain farmers? They work four weeks in the spring and four weeks in the fall! When you have cows you work 24 7 365 days a year. You earn every dollar that you make. Oh and Congratulations on the new rig.

I love the name and it’s not bragging because not many young people get up at 4:30 in the morning to go milk then spend the rest of the day working on things around the farm then milk again leaving the barn at 8 pm just to get up and do it again the next day. Congratulations on the truck

We had an 03 Jetta 1.9 TDI when we lived in Florida. Absolutely incredible car. Got 45 MPG bone stock and would flat out put you back in the seat when you got on it. Beautiful truck. If it does have active fuel management (shuts off cylinders at highway speeds) get that turned off immediately. We burned up many silverados from that area because of it. GM did make an upgrade to the oiling system to keep it from burning up rings but I do not remember what year that was. Enjoy that ride young fella!

That 5.3 is a great engine. I have 07 with 208,000 miles on it that I bought new. Changed the oil every 5,000 miles, changed spark plugs and wires at 100k and 200k, changed out coolant at different times and have never had a problem with it--never been in the shop! A/C will still freeze you out. The transmission laid down on me at about 203k, but had it rebuilt and still going strong. Next truck will definitely have the 5.3 if they still make it by the time I can afford a new one!

Owned a 2004 Silverado 268k miles, great truck 5.3, 2013 Silverado 186k 5.3, currently own 2019 Silverado Trail Boss 53k miles, 5.3 No problems at all with any of them! Awesome trucks!

Nice Truck Mason, I picked up a 2013 ext rwd dr. 5.3 Low miles 63,400. absolutely love it. The bed sides were banged up but No rust. I highly recommend putting on a pair of after market rear wheel well liners and mud flaps. Also wire brush and paint the frame. It'll hold back the rust for 7 years. Happy motoring.

Oh, shiny! I can certainly see why the kids go for the sleek-looking red Chevrolet trucks. Congratulations Mason. When I'm ready to get something newer I believe I will head down to the local International Harvester dealer and see what he has. Now that I'm older and not so much needing an open pickup bed, I might just spring for a shiny new Travelall. Not ready for that yet, though. My 1933 International truck is still going strong and she's only up to about 5600 miles. Would be nice to have satellite radio though.

Very nice truck Mason! My 1st "new to me" truck was my 1984 GMC 3/4 ton, I bought that in 1988. Was used had about 60k on it, 2wd, 350 w/TH400, good work truck and looks decent. Still have that old squarebody today! BTW that Jetta is very decent shape. Here in Upstate NY they used way too much roadsalt and the rust on cars is terrible. So yeah very little rust on that car, somebody would definitely scoop that up.

definitely keep the clifford name! nice truck and that cab set up is called the double cab I had a 2018 in cajun red tincoat. I now have a 2024 3500 dually d-max auburn Metallic (the truck I've wanted since I started driving).

Congrats young man that's a big deal to work and buy something that nice I see the family is very proud of you I've watched you work on the videos and that's a big deal as lazy as young men are today I have a 91 Chevy z71 k 1500 that I ve had for ever seems like but that's all I want it's five speed straight shift I haul 21 loads of firewood on it this year out of the mountains I live in the mountains of eastern KY id just keep it sprayed out from beneath and watch my frame that's about all that is to maintain on trucks like that they are the Energizer bunny they just keep on going and going beautiful truck good decision and love the color good luck on your road ahead

My dad had an 08 silverado red like that one but a tad darker he bought from an older couple and he liked it alot used it alot on the farm then he traded it in for a 22 silverado this past summer

Great truck man. A couple things on those. The Cylinder deactivation system is terrible. Get a range afm disabler to solve that. The transmission torque converters always blow up between 100k-150k miles and take out the whole transmission. Get a new one put in before then. Also the transmissions have a thermostat that runs them too hot, trans go and wehrli custom fab make good kits to delete that. Also the vacuum pumps always go bad. Put the truck in reverse and pump the brake 3 times to check. If the pedal gets hard the pump is bad. It is under an extended warranty from gm to 10 years 150k miles. I have seen all of these issues time after time and they are costly to repair if not taken care of before the failure. Enjoy the truck man. It is super nice.

Wow. I'm a Ford guy, but that is a gorgeous truck Mason! Sounds like you found one of those that we all try to find. Came from an old couple that only drove it around town and on the highway. Never pulled anything. Nice taneu cover. Always shedded. That thing is like new buddy. Years ago vehicles were wore out at 100K miles. Nowadays they are just well broke in at that point. If you take care of your stuff the way your dad and grandpa do, that truck will last you a very, very, long time. Congrats on your purchase! Keep the Jeta for a run around vehicle. Those things will go until eternity..... Clifford is definitely the name for it. Thats what I thought your dad should name his tractor. But you can't have two Clifford's on the same place. Or, just call it 🔥 Fire.

Check the frame over well, 14-18s are bad for rusting. Check out Eastwood frame paint and encapsulator. Keep an eye on this.

Chevy Eldorado long version with double cab. I‘m from Europe and we rented one like this in 1997 with a camping cabin on it. It was brandnew. That was a previous model from this one. I loved it. It drove so smooth and one could feel the sturdiness and quality in it. Wonderfull workhorse!!!!
