A New First Order SUPER STAR DESTROYER?... (or did Star Wars steal more fan art?)

We look at what may be a New First Order Super Star Destroyer or dreadnought, which seems to be a copy of the Mandator Super Star Destroyer fan design. Very strange, we'll discuss on today's Star Wars Lore video!
My theory? Someone tried to find a model for the Mandator 4 and messed up. This is clearly not the Resurgent or Supremacy Mega Star Destroyer, and I doubt we're canonizing a fanon design.

Food for thought on ur video. I think Lucas arts is trying to save the star wars franchise because of the last movie and all the backlash Disney got over there political views being pushed into the film... even tho the movies where still good they kinda got black listed... to me this and the director they choosed to do the last film plus alot of the ships included in the trailer seems like they are paying homage to legends to bring back the fan base. Especially bringing back the emperor palpatine which we all know thats who was laughing at the end of the trailer. It's got me kinda excited that we might get back the star wars we all love

Maybe. Unlike some, Canto Bight didn't drive me crazy, although Holdo felt a bit force. Others are afraid of anti-family messages, that older generation screw things up, and you can only depend on yourself, etc... but it is, of course, VERY EASY to fall into confirmation biases. It's honestly just odd. If an artist had to go and draw an illustration of a "new" star destroyer I have no idea why they would pick a fan model or design without permission (if that's the case). Star destroyers aren't that hard to design, big triangle or triangle-like shape, an exposed bridge, and rows of gun emplacements. There is so much Star Wars art out there creating original work for the universe is honestly very easy.

The only thing that annoys me about Ansel Hsiao is that his alternative Victory-class design is now treated as canonical by many. When you google "Victory-class Star Destroyer", most of the results are pictures of his design, which isn't a bad one, but it looks totally different from the actual VSD. This and because Eck also always uses Ansel's design, many people now believe this is what a VSD looks like.

Or, the book features these ships, and he/she literally thought it was an official design. Edit: PS: I googled "Mandator 2" & while that exact orientation isn't on the first two pages, the design is visible in the first two images, and given how simple the background is, it's possible they didn't yoink it directly from someone. Lucasfilm needs to take a much firmer hand when it comes to these artists and publishers who steal artwork and designs from others without proper credit. Whenever artists do fan-works they almost always have to give credit to whatever the work is based off of, but I don't see it happening the other way around. Lucasfilm needs to do proper vet and research when it comes to the designs of the artists and needs to work with the publishers to make sure that these sorts of things don't happen or at the very least the proper credit is given.

This isn't even fanart of a ship with a canon design that Disney would own the rights to like EJ's Torpedo Sphere or Fractal's ISD. And apparently EJ didn't directly put the model into EaW himself which arguably means he didn't consent to the design defaulting to the owners of the license like the EULA says. Here is the weird thing. Mandator ll's were Clone Wars based dreadnaughts. So why is General Hux basically at the age he is in the Force Awakens and in front of Clone Wars Era Dreadnaughts? There are 60 ish years between when the Mandator appeared and Hux's time. Unless the First Order make 3 different designs of Dreadnaughts in 40 ish years. Which would just seem weird. I have no idea. This is however one hell of a mystery.

alota big business's these days depend on stealing fan made additions/idea's. videogame companies steal modders idea's all the time. ive worked for comapanys that have you sign illegal(i hope its illegal) papers that say the company owns any artistic property you create while working for that company. some companies would probably attempt to take you to court if you invented a new facebook or something while you work there. say you didnt do your job because you were busy and they want 50% atleast of your property to cover the costs of having you work for them for dirt cheap no doubt. theres no laws for all intents and purposes unless your as wealthy as the person/company taking you to court.

In my opinion, yes, there are several similarities. Perhaps the fan art was the inspiration for the design, but "Star Wars stealing fan art" sounds a bit of a stretch, not to mention click-baity. Keep in mind that the ST is not as fleshed-out as the OT and PT. Comics like these help introducing new concepts and ideas that the ST desperately needs.

How does it seem the first order keeps getting more powerful after having its main Death Star 2.0 and flag ship getting blown up and emperor 2.0 getting killed as well. They were just a remnant militia of the empire living in the unknown regions. How are they just automatically in control of the whole galaxy in episode 9 just because they defeated the rebels (cough cough...I mean resistance)? Where’s the New republic forces? The sequels just seem like a lazy reboot of the original trilogy. It would’ve been cooler if we could’ve got a greater force that bares no resemblance to the empire Vs. the new republic and Luke’s new Jedi order (not rebels vs. empire 2.0).

Maybe it is still a Republic design with the mandator 1 and then mandator 3 and Bellator Imperial designs and maybe the first order either found it after concreting the galaxy or they somehow required mandator 2 and then either use mandator2 designer and turned it to mandator 4 or mandator 2 filled in the role of a mid-range dreadnought as the mandator 4 filled in the role siege ship

As an artist myself I know how bad it feels when you see someone using your work without permission or at least a credit. However, no matter how you look at it, Evil Jedi's Mandator wouldn't even exist if Star Wars didn't. Furthermore Evil Jedi's design is an UNOFFICIAL NON-CANON FAN design for a mod for a game that is no longer canon. Legally speaking Disney/Lucasfilm can use any type of fan material as a base and not have to credit anyone, as the IP it's based off of is theirs. It sucks, I agree, but the same goes for ANY fan art of ANY franchise or intellectual property. At least be happy it'll perhaps now be a canon design.

Master Eck, I believe, if they did not compensate AND credit Evil Jedi, who should sue for Compensatory and Punitive damages. It would also be helpful to know is Copyrighted his designs. If he did, then that adds a whole new layer of Copyright Infringement, Unauthorized and Unlicensed use of Copyrighted Material, which of course adds any revenue gained, gross revenue, from sale of merch with his Copyrighted original work. It seems only fair, Disney goes HARD, after ANYONE using Copyrighted or Trademarked Material. Ask Star Wars Theory. It’s more murky if Evil Jedi left it in the public domain, free for anyone to use. Then he would have to get fan support to lambast Disney for credit as designer.

Given the fact that the Forerunners are capable of building weapons capable of wiping out all complex life in the galaxy, ONLY the critters in the warp might survive. The Forerunners have VERY quick FTL travel, while 40K(as far as I know) does NOT have FTL travel.

Yeah the Fan design isn't official for the Mandator 1/2, the EGTW states that the Mandator 1-3 all had the same general shape as the Bellator but had the Executor-style cityscape around the central "Hump" of the Bellator/Assertor design.

Say for example a small team of modders for a game like EaW make a mistake and accidently "steal" a fan design thinking it was canon. That would be one thing. However, Disney is one of the largest businesses on the planet, and certainly one of the, if not the, largest entertainment company. I find it hard to excuse any "mistake" they make when they have those kinds of resources at their disposal.

SkyNet vs The Flood 343rd Attempt Scenario: - SkyNet beats the resistance, and then a Flood Banshee crash-lands on Earth, the Flood form inside does not survive, SkyNet retrieves the body and studies it, and learns the basics of it (it is infectious, has some sort of hive mind, and can take memories), SkyNet analyzes the crashed ship, and manages to decode transmissions from the late Covenant, alerting them of the Flood threat coming to Earth. - SkyNet then prepares for the next 5 years for the incoming Flood threat. - The Flood will arrive using multiple High Charity's, including its fleet, weapons, and so on. In Scenario 1, it gets 5 High Charity's, in Scenario 2, it gets 10 High Charity's, and in Scenario 3, it gets 15 High Charities. - The Flood may not use the Logic Plague on SkyNet. - SkyNet may not travel back in time and just constantly give pre-Flood War SkyNet better and better stuff and information. - If SkyNet can survive until the third scenario, then SkyNet would win. Although if that is not enough, then each of the scenarios could in fact be a wave of Flood coming to Earth, with the next wave coming after the one before was completely destroyed, and would wait for an extra month after that. -During said month, SkyNet can regroup, analyze the data from the battle, scavenge for Covenant tech, use it for itself, and possibly reverse engineer it in order to improve its own weaponry and technology, and produce more machines in order to potentially try and regain its former numbers before the battle, and prepare for the next one.

This isn't the first time this has happened with the Marvel Comics. Same thing happened with one of Adam Kopala's fan designs. Probably not intentional, but Marvel is known for being flat-out lazy with their art in recent years, so it would not surprise me if they ripped this straight off of dA.

This is probably a case where the Variant Cover artist "borrowed" the design (which is shitty) without telling anyone, and the Marvel editors didn't realize it was a fan design (I can't expect people to know what every fanon ship design looks like). Not sure this is Lucasfilm's fault, though they should tell artists to not steal fan art and then enforce that policy. Or at least credit the people properly.
