It could have been a lot more effective than an Executor-Class Star Dreadnaught. The Bellator Star Dreadnaughts had the speed, the firepower, and the intimidation factor. It was the perfect compromise between the Mandators and the Executor Star Dreadnaughts, so while it's costlier than an Imperial Star Destroyers or an Allegiance Heavy Star Destroyers, the Empire could have built more of these ships in greater quantities than a few dozen Executors. A Bellator could have been a versatile and deadly ship under the hands of a brilliant and experienced commander. Imagine more of these big bad mofos with interdictor mines and missiles, more anti-starfighter defenses, and proton missiles arranged in a phalanx formation to destroy ships in broadside exchanges. Sounds badass, right? Now add a complement of Skipray blastboats, TIE Defenders, TIE Hunters, and shielded TIE Interceptors. With all of these combined, you have the perfect Rebel-busting ship that would work in tandem with improved Venators, enhanced Victory-Class Star Destroyers, and beefed up Vindicator Cruisers.

@@bradmorales4002 What if Thrawn wants to do probing or hit and fade attacks? He could very well work with improved Dreadnaught cruisers with networked systems along with Carrack frigates to soften Rebel strongholds. He'll need speed for that, which makes enhanced TIE Interceptors and Skipray blastboats for those assaults, too. As for TIE Phantoms? Great idea but why not merge that technology with TIE Defenders or TIE Hunters? Either TIE advanced fighters are perfect surgical strike fighters that can do anything from destroy ships and enemy fighters alike to stealth ops. Just add a cloaking device and an advanced AI to work closely with the pilot. Now what if you want more destruction with a heavier payload while integrate some stealth tech? Well, imagine all that TIE Phantom tech on a Scimitar-class strategic bomber. The Rebels won't know what hit them.

JayMike Villanueva you have a taste for tactical ships made my friend, these ships are cheaper than a typical imperial ship, and are far more effective if used right I would have my dreadnought escorted with 4 improved/upgraded Venators as you said, 2 enhanced victory-class star destroyer’s, and 3 beefed up Vindicator cruisers, along with anti star fighter Carrak and Charger c70’s, and having upgraded X-wings, upgraded/improved Arc 170’s, Tie defenders, upgraded RZ2 A wings, upgraded Y wings, and lastly, upgraded/ improved shielded V19 Torrents That’s what I think would be badass, what you think

I’d argue Replicators, they have the Asgard beams which Star Wars can’t really answer and they can quickly assimilate most of the stuff the Star Wars universe can through against them, they don’t really have the tech to build ARGs and they don’t have or don’t use bullets often enough

One of my most memorable early gaming experiences was a dual disc of dark forces and full throttle. Totally on board with the in depth video. Commanded by Rahm Mahc if I'm not mistaken. In retrospect, his boots on the ground, anti Tarkin doctrine approach may have served the Empire much more effectively.

My only reference for the scale of the Kandosii is the EAW Remake mod and while that mod tries to stay true to ship scales in lore i don't know how accurate it is. It just seems so much smaller than all other dreadnoughts

I would love to have seen the inclusion of a Hapan Battle Dragon. Just the idea of a rotating ring of weapons that can maintain a constant stream of fire on a single target, or maintain active offense on multiple targets just seems like a smart design that no one else for some reason considered.

Also as for "Other Battle moons" there are the two that bombard the rebel base in the Jedi Knight 1 expansion Mysteries of the Sith, they've got truly massive guns. I feel like scaling up the Eye of Palpatine to 19 km long when it was originally written as equal to the inaccurately small 8km Executor was a bit much given all its extra volume.

For nearly every type of combat vessel that the Empire builds, the deflector shield generators seem to always be placed on the top/dorsal side of the vessel instead of on the front, sides, or to be ventrally mounted on the ship/vessel. That would seem to be a big weakness for any vessel constructed by the Empire, all that an enemy needs to do is to pound on the vessel long enough to collapse the shields, hit the generator towers on the top side & then the vessel is completely defenseless. No backup/auxilliary shield generators in the event of a power failure or other malfunction to the top-mounted shield generator structures.

Hey eck you should totally create like a series where you will analyze big battles of the post endor era . Especially space battles because this is where you sign . You had started that with some battles in njo series but i think that analyzing battles from series like the legacy of the force , the swarm war , x wing novels and others . Nice catch, I remember these, think first heard of this from.. I think the EU novel Truce of Bakkura.. where Luke found himself almost dying several times on just such a strong, but a malfunctioning, weapon on it's way to due a long lost mission and picking up all sorts of creatures mistaking them for it's long lost garrison along the way if I remember right. It was I remember not a moon but some sorta station like ship I think. Almost forgot bout these.

The Flood would be able to set themselves up and propogate far faster than the Reapers. They can take over enemy assets on the go snd in the field on a scale that he reapers can't, meaning that they can replenish their losses and gain more ground and objectives far quicker

The Bellator is absolutely the most practical dreadnought in the SW universe. Plenty are better, but Bellators are very useful and still overpower most ships by a huge degree. They're cheaper and don't have the Executor's problem with maneuverability. If the Empire had stopped making Executors and larger and started making Bellators to lead roving fleets, the Empire might have won.
