I'm from New Mexico that's a great unit to hunt wit a muzzle loader. But thats hunting you win some you lose some but its all about hunting with family and making memories. I loved they way u guys stayed positive till the end. 💯 👍

Was this before they changed the restrictions on muzzleloader scopes? I shot a pronghorn last year with one but scopes were not allowed in New Mexico from what i read

This hunt was back in 2022, before they removed the ability to use a riflescope on muzzleloader hunts. Huge congrats on the antelope! That is a tough feat with an open-sight system!

@@GOHUNT makes sense! Pronghorn Was a warmup hunt for my Colorado bull tag i had for muzzleloader as well. Got lucky with both tags! But definitely more of a challenge with the open sight no sabot rounds!

I have had the same experience with Elk in New Mexico it's my home state i have and elk hunt this year we developed a new elk call that has been proven in the field for the past 3 years. Nuevo Mexico Cazadores game calls

Nice video. If you run 140 gr by volume of BH209 you can shoot those factory Remington Ultimates 400 yds if you have the optics to do it.

Nice video, but I don't get why when people ask the unit mums the word. I've hunted elk in Arizona and new Mexico for years and will never hesitate to tell some one a unit I've hunted and Ill tell you why. Hunting has become so popular that the number of applicants per year keeps climbing and just about everything is a draw now, so even if you mentioned the unit I doubt the number of applicants would increase by much if at all, and it could be years before you draw that tag again. Most of the people watching probably wouldn't put in for it anyways. I have drawn unit 23 NM ML this year and years past archery and have not had very good luck, the elk are there and I have passed on some, but they are few and far between. Some people would hunt the unit once and probably never again because it is a tough hunt, your definitely not going to be seeing a ton of elk. Seems like most of the people that wont name units are the ones who are in it for the money with their guiding or video productions. I guess if you called Go-Hunt and paid them they would tell you what unit.
