Note momochi crouches before heavy blitz, thats how he times it in the first place. He is holding down during the LVL 2 animation, and does a mini crouch animation for an instant and then the heavy blitz. That was the lab work for timing it.

I’ve found a lvl2 into lvl1 super combo with Jamie that’s pretty good in terms of damage (unless drink lvl4, it’s pretty much on par with his usual lvl3 super routes), but it definitely doesn’t build much meter at all, so it’s not optimal in that sense. It’s really effin’ cool though, so there’s that

I remember back in the Oro days I was watching a stream where Brian tried to figure out what to do when he didn’t have VS2 equipped and landed EX tatsu but was too far away for a standing medium punch. I proposed in chat that he try forward medium punch into heavy DP. While I think he didn’t see that message, that combo eventually did become a higher risk higher reward route for VS1 Oro that Brian used a lot

They will if enough ppl talk about. They snuck in a Ken nerf June 10th - Jinrai loops now almost impossible to do without plinking - and you need to plink a SHORT. That’s territory very few players ever learned. You need a dead button that won’t override the short, or give you throw.

It's really not bad, 2 frame window for heavy blitz is easy to get consistent with some practice. It's manual but with sound cues and making Ed crouch it's really not bad.

People saying they will nerf this -- I seriously doubt it, these combos are incredibly challenging and not practical for your average joe. The new momochi "dream" combo is so fucking difficult that I wouldn't even be mad if someone hit me with it, lol.

@@Brian_F I'm guessing because pros make it look easy. The average on-looker will think that every Ed player will do this from now on. It also won't help when more and more top-tier Ed players start posting videos of them pulling it off, making it look even more common (even if only the top 1% of Ed players are *occasionally* pulling it off in specific circumstances.) I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom does do a slight nerf (removing/reducing drive gain while level 2 is active or something), not because it's ruining the game experience and actually unbalanced, but out of the principle of "it's not really supposed to work like that." It would be a shame (as you said, seeing players push the limits of a character is really cool), but I could definitely see them doing that.

@@imjust_a Yeah, I mostly say it will get nerfed because cool stuff has gotten nerfed already and based on my experience with Smash Ultimate, I think the tendency is strong enough for it to happen eventually.

The only nerf I would see happening is reducing the meter gain to be consistent with the other level 2s that have had similar nerfs. I would be surprised if they nerfed anything to make the combo itself impossible.

Rashid's Ysaar mixup and pressure is much easier to do albeit still quite tricky, Rashid mains pull it off constantly, this is another level. SO hopefully they won't nerf it as it is really rare to come up in an actual match

For those who are doing this combo and struggling with the initial Heavy Blitz. Time it so that your 1st blitz hit gets their extended foot after they bounce up from the ball (10:28). You want to catch their foot as early as possible so that they stay in the air above the ball. Too early and 1st blitz hit will miss, too late and you won't keep them high enough. Also after the Heavy Blitz, you can do FrameKill Stand LP -> L. Blitz -> Dash H.DP -> Dash L.Blitz -> Dash H.DP for a more consistent, less damaging combo. A cheeky but fun option. After Dash L.Blitz, you can do a lvl 2 charge Stand HP, this will whiff and push the opponent so that when they stand up, the last hit of the orb catches them. Also works on the EX Snatcher version of this combo. Enjoy training!

Tried this shit myself and it's near impossible, you gotta delay that heavy blitz by like 5 frames to get the juggle and even if you do get it to have heavy dp continue the sandwich is crazy hard could not complete it even once not even close. If someone lands this one on tournament it's gonna be like the equivalent to evil ryu stomp loops in sf4

This is much harder imo, much more situational, and in the context of sf6, much riskier to go for than evil ryu stomp loops. I would say the full Rufus only evil ryu loops might be harder but if you drop them it's no big deal and you can attempt again right away. You mess this up you might never get the chance again lol Edit: after more practice, I take it back. I think this is slightly easier to execute than basic e. Ryu stomp loops, but more situational. It can definitely be done consistently

There’s some neat little things you can force your opponent to the corner in burnout and set up a check mate with level 2. I have a few clips of it that I’ve made and it’s so sick Ed has so many options that you can just put your opponent into terrible situations

The big Discovery I thought everybody was excited about was the damage because I've been doing a very similar combo to that off a jab since Ed came out. In fact the combo that he did is a bit too prone to drops in my opinion even with the auto time because I've noticed some slight hitbox difference between characters during the juggle.

Idk why but when I attempt this desync after the second dp the dummy gets stuck in the lvl2 and burns the rest of it EDIT: After experimenting I found that the bounce is kinda dependant on the dp timing. If you have the same issue try to delay the dp timing until the lvl2 orb hits the dummy only once before your followup.

My only issue as a SFV Ed enjoyer is the lack of Psycho Knuckle utility. I really feel like improving this one move could substantially upgrade him. If you played Ed in SFV you probably know what I mean. There should be a better OD version like a perfect charged OD that has good frame data to force different scenarios. He is very fun and I love the glow up, but this is absolutely missing from his kit and it's a real head scratcher.

That would be the holy grail. Doesn't exist yet. Like mentioned in the video, before this it could only be done from specific conversions with OD flicker. Now consistent grounded OD blitz let's you get them. Who knows what will be figured out next

That's cool but basically the overall problem in his design. Everything revolves around the level 2, really good timing and a dash of luck. You can do cool things with Ed and when that happens it looks and feels awesome. These instances are just too rare and it's a lot easier with a lot of other characters. Brian puts it very well at the start, no social life.That's Ed in a nutshell, which maybe is a clever joke that makes you feel immersed with the character, based on his introduction video in SF6 he seems to always have to be on his toes. Ed should have been buffed, he still starts out slow and has a lot of recovery, no overhead, needs his lights which universally have been nerfed and when Capcom sees these videos,...we all know what happens, they're taking even that away from the poor boy...
