That pergola was done at a client's house 5 years ago. When I saw them last year everything was good.

The snow should go through the roof since it's open. As for the wood, the kit doesn't come with the wood, you select that.

Of course it's half the cost of a regular shade structure, you only get HALF the shade! Gonna be a fun sunburn to explain.... Zebra jokes included, no cost.

In the afternoon, the angle of the wood creates 70 to 90% shade coverage. Also partially open shade structures are useful over BBQ's to let the smoke out. Thanks for watching!
