My favorite video game of all time. I will body anybody on the GameCube. I thank you for this video and everybody that went into building something important that was in my childhood. This game made me learn who legends of the game were. Causing my love of basketball to grow exponentially, and I was already madly infatuated.

Such a great video! An underrated part of NBA street 2, at least in my experience as a very young kid playing it just getting into hoops, was how much it indirectly taught me about the legends and history of the game. The loading screens encouraged me to look up these old players I had never heard of, and led me to dive into the history of basketball. It turned me into a 7 year old who could recite facts about George gervin and Dr J. I truly think that really factored into growing my basketball passion

This game did so much for me growing up. I remember playing it religiously. In my early teens, because of this game, anytime I would walk to a friend's house, I'd be dribbling a basketball, just reenacting the moves I'd done hundreds of times in the game. It was also the thing that made me realize I like hip hop music. As someone who grew up in the bling era, I just didn't enjoy the corniness of it, but when I fired up this game and heard Lords of The Underground and Black Sheep it showed me such a different side of hip hop that still resonates with me to this day. This game's personality is timeless and will always be timeless.

Respect for highlighting Vol 2. one of the true sports gaming GOATs. Timelessly cool, easy to pick up but lots to master and infinitely replayable. This game, along with Def Jam FFNY and NFL Street, was EA BIG at its best. So sad they messed up with the move to the 360 and then they just stopped altogether. Bring it back, EA!

This game shaped who I am today. Stylistically, hip-hip-wise, basketball, etc. New York was the epicenter of everything cool in the mid-2000s and NBA Street Vol. 2 brought the streets of New York under the scope yet again - this time with the courts of West 4ths of, Rucker Park, and the over own in Brownsville. I lived in the suburbs of San Diego - a place reserved for beaches and weather and thought MAN! where on earth do they have street basketball like this? I would spend hours at my local park imagining the NBA Street in my own head. Years later, I own embark on journeys to find the parks and play on the legendary courts. I have been and played at West 4th, Mosswood, Rucker Park, and Greenlake Park. In between, I have found my own legendary courts, including parks in Beijing, Portland, and other places. Thank you NBA Street Vol. 2 for all the great memories and introducing me to the world of street ball!

This is incredible, and it shows how beautiful art can be when the people that create it CARE. This team did this with limited tech, and probably a limited budget. So inspirational. NBA Street Vol 1 & 2 were some great games. I wish they could make games like that again, specifically like those two. Vol 2 in particular had some amazing graphics for that generation. I would even take a remastered version of those games, with the same old rosters, just to play it again. I knew I recognized Tricia Rose. She wrote a book called Black Noise in the 90's. Probably one of the most dense, scholarly books about Hip Hop that you'll ever read.

J Kyle Mann just keeps getting better and better. You are a god. Didn't even know you made this video since it didn't have your name on the title but oh well. Keep at it, King.

In a way I guess I gotta thank this game (and the NBA Street series in general) for sparking my interest in hip-hop music. I remember loving the shit out of They Reminisce Over You several years before I ever started seriously listening to hip-hop and rap. And then I eventually got NBA Street V3 when that came out and the soundtrack on that was awesome as well.

This IS the best basketball video game ever made. And a beautiful tribute to hip-hop, and NYC.

My childhood 😭 thank you for this. The Mosswood park....so many memories in the game and in that park. Being a Bay Area native that shit was EVERYTHING.

I remember buying this game back in the day. I ended up playing it all night long and beating the career mode in one sitting. I was around 5am and thought to myself, damn that was a good game.

Yo. This is definitely one of my favorite games of all times. I still play it to this day. It would only be right to bring this vibe back around for the 4th time. The new age would definitely love it!

This is one hell of a video. I grew up on NFL Street and missed NBA and now I think it’s time to amend that
