Such a great video! An underrated part of NBA street 2, at least in my experience as a very young kid playing it just getting into hoops, was how much it indirectly taught me about the legends and history of the game. The loading screens encouraged me to look up these old players I had never heard of, and led me to dive into the history of basketball. It turned me into a 7 year old who could recite facts about George gervin and Dr J. I truly think that really factored into growing my basketball passion

This game did so much for me growing up. I remember playing it religiously. In my early teens, because of this game, anytime I would walk to a friend's house, I'd be dribbling a basketball, just reenacting the moves I'd done hundreds of times in the game. It was also the thing that made me realize I like hip hop music. As someone who grew up in the bling era, I just didn't enjoy the corniness of it, but when I fired up this game and heard Lords of The Underground and Black Sheep it showed me such a different side of hip hop that still resonates with me to this day. This game's personality is timeless and will always be timeless.

This is incredible, and it shows how beautiful art can be when the people that create it CARE. This team did this with limited tech, and probably a limited budget. So inspirational. This game shaped who I am today. Stylistically, hip-hip-wise, basketball, etc. New York was the epicenter of everything cool in the mid-2000s and NBA Street Vol. 2 brought the streets of New York under the scope yet again - this time with the courts of West 4ths of, Rucker Park, and the over own in Brownsville. I lived in the suburbs of San Diego - a place reserved for beaches and weather and thought MAN! where on earth do they have street basketball like this? I would spend hours at my local park imagining the NBA Street in my own head. Years later, I own embark on journeys to find the parks and play on the legendary courts. I have been and played at West 4th, Mosswood, Rucker Park, and Greenlake Park. In between, I have found my own legendary courts, including parks in Beijing, Portland, and other places. Thank you NBA Street Vol. 2 for all the great memories and introducing me to the world of street ball!
