6:00 The Light world mountain in the Japanese version of ALTTP was actually called Mount Hebra / Hebra Mountain, same with ALBW. They were also going to call Death Mountain in OOT Both Death Mountain and Hebra early on, but cut it. This is the OOT Beta dialogue for it: “Hey kid, you see that mountain over there? That's Mount Hebra... Also known by the name Death Mountain, it's a volcano inhabited by the Gorons.”

I expect traditional dungeons to return because of the areas we see in the trailers, and I think that these will work because of two primary reasons: 1. The echo ability is much more limited than the runes in the Wild era games, as there is a limit to how many items you can spawn (reflected in how many triangles are trailing Tri at a time). Thus, echoes will be less able to break puzzles, and we will have a greater puzzle-solving capacity as we expand our echo limit. Echoes are interesting, but (fortunately in this case) they have their limits. We will still be able to accomplish absurd feats, but hopefully we will be less able to straight-up break the game. 2. Because of how the echo mechanic works, dungeons could be able to introduce new and unique echoes that could serve in a way as "items." I do hope that EoW still has traditional items, but, if it does not, echoes introduced in dungeons could serve as a functional substitute. We could copy tools we acquire elsewhere and use them in the overworld and in future dungeons. This would honestly add an unnecessary level of complexity to utilizing items, but it would still work. With all this said, I will mention that the echo mechanic makes me worried that EoW will have the same enormous problem as TotK: too much time spent sorting through menus and out of the action.
@lordofuzkulak83085 ай бұрын
1:19:33 - I think it might be nicer to wait a bit for the EoW playthrough to allow people chance to play it for themselves (might hurt viewer numbers and engagement if people put off watching your playthrough until after they’ve finished playing it themselves), allow you both time to poke around and find cool details you can showcase, and so it’s less likely to get lost amidst a bunch of other EoW vids that’ll likely pop up at the same time.

I like the casual format. I tend to listen to podcasts when I’m driving, working out, cleaning so minimal editing is no problem. I think the worst thing I could happen is this becomes a chore to evil and you want to stop doing it. Keep it fun and light! Were here for it!
@Staniel085 ай бұрын
I honestly love the "just chillin" vibe more. All the editing with the green screen and everything was just too much, this is much much better. I also like that the volume on the music is lower in this one.

As a woman, I LOVE that the first game we play as Zelda is done with this art style! I hope it covers some dark topics which will be a lot less scary because of the art style. I love the style regardless though. It's so cute and I'm confident that Nintendo will deliver an awesome Princess Zelda no matter what the story is.
@lordofuzkulak83085 ай бұрын
26:33 - have we had a game with ‘Courage’ in the title yet? If not, what if this is the first of a trilogy of games that can be linked akin to the Oracle games, and we’ll get an Echos of Courage where we play as Link and an Echos of Power where we play as Ganon. And maybe that’s why the framing of Link and Ganon in the art for this game makes them look a bit like buddies; it’s not because as some have speculated that Link will be mind controlled or the like, it’s because all three TriForce bearers will have to come together and team up to defeat a Big Bad that opposes all of them? 😉
@iCrowLink4 ай бұрын
I'd be fine with them 'teaming up' temporarily to fight whatever this'll be, because they have no other choice. I just hope they don't try to make us sympathize with Ganon, there's some people/beings that are so evil that making us try to sympathize with them is straight up insulting, and Ganon is one of them. 😂

My hypothesis, Link's sword in Echoes of Wisdom is a redesign for the Magical Sword from the original Zelda.
@perriwinkleiii53615 ай бұрын
I haven't seen anyone mention this about the game, but if you were looking for more links to BotW/TotK, it appears to have a dedicated jump button! They show her jumping in the overworld very prominently, but it's more of a regular hop, not the Link's Awakening somersault Link does with the Roc's Feather, so I assume it's part of the designers' promotion of player freedom, in the same vein of the open air 3D titles

I could see a Ganondorf game could hark back to his sorcerer king status. Collecting both destructive spells and weapons and using those instead of tools or summons to complete objectives with an emphasis on the destructive, explosive, or impressive power of these abilities. That they're "innate" instead of a tool or an object fits Ganon quite well.
@chrislevack4055 ай бұрын
Nintendo will literally never let you play as the enemy. Show me a "Bowser" game, then I will believe you.
@TrueWolves5 ай бұрын
@@chrislevack405 okay cool, missing the point of a hypothetical to try to start an irrelevant argument. I'm still curious, does anyone else have any ideas on how a Ganon-focused game could function in a LoZ like format but distinct from Link or Zelda's playstyles?
@chrislevack4055 ай бұрын
@@TrueWolves name a game where you play as the bad guy. Nintendo will never do it. Your hypothetical is a massive waste of time. Stop.
@TrueWolves5 ай бұрын
Lol, okay "dont have fun" guy. Short answer: Wario Long Answer: Depending on how semantic you wanna be, you can ignore all the games where Bowser joins the party (RPG, the Kart/Party/Sport/Smash games), Ignoring games with multiple protagonists that include villians (Hyrule warriors, F-Zero, Kirby Return to Dreamland, Kirby Superstar Ultra, Starfox Assault, etc) or countless games with hero/villian paths, we have Lego DC Villians, and if it has to be a main series Nintendo villian, Wario started as a final boss for Mario and has never done better than as a petty greedy robber even in games where he's the main or only player character.
@TrueWolves5 ай бұрын
Wario is a pretty good example of "same genre, different style" His games often involve platforming like Mario's do, but with a heavy focus on Wario's durability and insatiable greed in ability and level design instead of Mario's more jump or animal themed abilities and end focused goals like saving Peach.

Or if you just don't feel like being on camera and want to do the avatars, that works, too! I think as long as you guys are enjoying the process and the conversation, we will as well. I think it'd be fun to have a rotation between the timeline playthroughs, the spin offs/one shots, the more casual sit down and talks like this one, and the occasional guest debate/theory discussion would be awesome. I personally enjoyed Cadence of Hyrule (and found it easier than the original Necrodancer, oddly enough). Plus iirc Cadence of Hyrule had an easy mode that turned off the rhythm mechanic, while Necrodancer only had that for one character (the Bard). That said, the gbc games did let you charge a spin attack, use the jump item and then use the spin attack midair.

In regards to Echoes of Wisdom, I think you guys should either wait at LEAST like…2 weeks to at least give people a chance to play it on their own and find hidden things and experience it for themselves first. The other option I think is, I’m SURE we can all agree tnis game goes somewhere on the downfall timeline? Maybe wait until you get to the end of the downfall timeline, then discuss where you think it takes place? Just spitballing here. Either way I’d love to hear your guys thought on where you think this game takes place now, based on what little we’ve seen. Do you guys think it takes place after Links Awakening? Is this a brand new Link and Zelda? I’m really interested to hear your thoughts on this games timeline placement!

I’m hoping that Echoes of wisdom has some traditional elements and bringing new features into the 2d styled games. As for a day one play-through I think it would be best to wait on that one just because everyone would be avoiding spoilers and whatever else from the game.

My theory for the hood on Zelda is because of the absence of Link. Link is probably known across Hyrule as the person who deals with stuff like that. So I think the hood is to make, on a quick glance, that it is Link not Zelda to give the every day people hope.

My theory on the Zoras' is that in every Timeline, the Zora have a Civil War. This causes the 2 variants, Green River Zora (sweet water fish) who changed over decades of only leaving in the River, and the typical Silver Zora (sweet/salt water fish), who at that point live in the Sea. On every Timeline, the "Great Flood" happens, and it is the River Zora who evolve into the Rito as Salt water takes the world. Eventually, the Silver Zora regain control of Zora's Domain since the River Zora left to now live in a peak.

When you see the way the elements of the world that get swallowed up by the purple void (?) get distorted within it, I wonder if the same happened to link’s sword and that’s why it’s similar in colour but looks different. It looks like a broken/distorted version of the one he has at the beginning. Just an idea, tho.

54:58 - I don’t think she really needs a companion character to talk for her to have her be a silent protagonist; in games where Link doesn’t have a companion, or in the Pokemon games to take another silent protagonist series as further examples, it’s telegraphed that Link (or the trainer in Pokemon) does talk, it’s just that we the players just don’t get to hear what they say aside from dialogue choices or the few occasions an NPC parrots back to us what Link/trainer has said. As such, the same can be applied to Zelda in this and any future game she’s the playable character in. A better question is whether we’ll get to see/hear Link speak.

I'd be fine with a Ganon game so long as he stays evil, so basically you'd be playing as the bad guy. The recent trend (idk if it's actually all that recent now that I say it) of making the bad guys seem: 'not all that bad' is weird to me. 😂 They're doing it with Star Wars Acolyte now, making the Jedi out to be the bad guys and make you sympathize with the Sith, it's so silly because they're supposed to be the physical manifestations of good vs evil. So if there's a Ganon game make us try to take over Hyrule or something. Or if it's a 'teaming up' situation then make it clear they're only teaming up because they literally have no other choice and after it's done we're right back to fighting each other. 😋
