In order to feel like Zelda, the movie needs a lot of big sweeping establishing shots of the locations Link travels to. I'm not even joking. The core of Zelda is its world, and the breathtaking wonders of all these exotic fantasy locales. That's not the only thing the film needs, but it is one of the keys.
@sparktaylor84894 ай бұрын
I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if we straight up get that shot of link looking at the world from atop a high spot like with botw's iconic opening scene and that echoes of wisdom also did in the trailer. I think they need to mix the shots where some are lone moments with minimal noise and music just some nice ambience of a smaller aspect something more artsy you'd see in an independent artsy film. But then have a fair share of these massive shots that grab you by the throat with this epic score that forces you to admire this incredible world. It's the botw opening shot, it's a marvel movie style shot (think cap walking by himself towards Thanos army in endgame) how Mario kart shows off rainbow road or modern open world games are with trailers it's just sweeping shots everywhere trying to give you sensory overload.

To go off of what Ed said at 44:42 about 2d and 3d Zelda games. I always call the 2d ones top-down games. Like they mentioned you always look down at the world from the top and even though the new ones have 3d models and areas they still play like classic 2d Zelda games. But since they use all the 3d assets I feel like Top-down is a good term to specify the type of Zelda game.

Being in America, I'm hoping Master Works (Creating a sage) comes out sometime in February near my birthday. Also, for ideas regarding content here, I definitely think a lot more podcasts should be done, especially with guests, because I'm really curious to see what their opinions are on some of the topics you guys bring up. No matter what you guys do here on the channel, I will be happy to just relax and watch two Zelda fans doing Zelda stuff.

Noble Pursuit is made in game with Rock Salt, Palm Fruit, Volt Fruit and Hydromelon With this in mind its probably a Pina Colada style drink. I would think it'd be coconut milk, blended with Passionfruit and Ice until smooth and frothy (like a thick slushie). Plop a good portion into a martini glass with its rim salted, then drizzle with some sort of melon liqueur around the frothy portion ; midori is probably the tastier option although it's not the right color, Combier makes a watermelon flavor so that might be your best bet. Garnish with a wedge of passionfruit, citrus peel, mint leaf, and maraschino cherry. Enjoy responsibly? Came up with this on the fly lol

I've said it many times but it bears repeating now: in the film, Link and Zelda (at a minimum; preferably Ganon as well) NEED to be played by relative nobodies. They very much SHOULD NOT cast already popular actors for the lead roles, because it would honestly cheapen the film by doing that. Take a look at LotR for example: those movies had a great mix of big names, lesser known but established actors, and relative unknowns, and they ALL killed it. Casting popular actors in the Zelda movie, just for the sake of them being popular, would basically be saying "we have to rely on star power because we don't believe in the film we've made".
@a.jthomas61324 ай бұрын
Since director Wes Bell is planning to incorporate a Miyazaki style (like Princess Mononoke, Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, etc) to this film , my hope for him, Nintendo & Miyamoto established the relationship between Link x Zelda. They started out at best of friends in the beginning until he lost her. Finding Zelda had become Link’s motive that has nothing to do with saving the world. Then their relationship will evolved them into be lovers as the their journey to save the Kingdom of Hyrule progressed even further. I’m sure fans would appreciate it.

33:15 - one concern I have with casting Link (assuming it’s going to be an adult/teen Link film rather than a child Link one) is that they’ll go for an actor that’s tall, ruggedly handsome, stereotypically masculine rather than someone that’s short, lithe, androgynous.
@Maren.20024 ай бұрын
Yes concern of mine too. I really hope Tom Holland/Timothée Chalamet (or anyone as famous as that) will play Link...

Good job, Zeldudes have quickly become my fave Zelda content on KZbin 👍 I think the fans will all grapple with some form of discontent in the lead actor choice for Link. When I play, my Link stealths, thinks problems through, solves issues and find new ways... but when my husband plays, his Link is couageous, he runs towards danger, fights first and questions things later. Deciding on slapping a definitive label for Link will be a hard decision for them, I think.

Walker Scobell who plays Percy Jackson might be a good fit for link. I know some might see him as a “child link” but by the time the movie would be filming, he would be 17 already. Mike Faist from Challengers could’ve worked as well but he’s aged out of the role too

YO THE INTRO IS ABSOLUTELY FIRE

As for Link's casting I actually think Walker Scobell or Thomas Brodie-Sangster would be perfect. Both have a youthful look, the right physique and wouldn't take me out of the immersion of the world like someone like Tom Holland for example, who has played a really popular character which has essentially merged with his image as an actor (when I imagine Tom I immediately think of Spiderman whereas I don't feel like people would have as firm of a connection to Newt or Percy Jackson imo)

Tom Holland is getting a bit older, they'll probably go for an unknown for Link. They'll likely go for someone super duper for big G. My instinct says Gary Oldman, but he's physically a bit twinky too. His intimidation is usually delivered through his being utterly unhinged. I wonder if Jason Momoa could do it? He's huge. Physically and fame wise.

In the area where y'all talk about the lore and if Nintendo cared to make it, I do feel they care about it, but I do feel they rushed it a lot with like the temples (like the ending of them) and also just trying to fill up the over world, depths, and trying to figure out the sky. And I say this because they spent so much time working on the hand abilities and making the gliding/falling mechanic. The story it does have is good of course, just it did become rushed unfortunately

Tears was a great game but definitely had some missed opportunities with the lore, storyline and cutscenes. My biggest wish what they could’ve done is actually make the “spirit temple” and actual temple. 😑 Exploring the depths to find the pieces for the 5th sage did not do its justice at all. Just pure laziness.
@ShadowWizard2244 ай бұрын
Exactly. It’s hard for me to count the spirit temple as an actual temple because it just feels like doing a bunch of chores in different places on the map and by the time you get to the actual temple you automatically do the boss fight.
