That’s what I would have done instead of going through all that trouble.

it wasn't 3 ^[(2x-1)/(x-1) on the the screen, but 2^[(2x-1)/(x-1)]

Make up your mind dude, is it 2 and 2, or 2 and 3? I think the whole idea of the problem was to recognize the relationship between the exponents. I doubt the Romanian test creator meant for the students to plot, integrate, differentiate, find an asymptote, etc. It's much more straight forward.

I made the "mistake" of solving the actual problem that was posted on the thumbnail. I came up with x = 1 + [ln(2)/ln(43/12)]

I would have solved it by doing log base 2.

I'm really confused. Isn't it bas2 for both? Why is he solving for base 3? What am I missing?

Well this looks simple enough . By reducing fractions of exponents to the simplest form we get: 2^(3+1/(x-1))+2^(2+1/(x-1))=43 If 2^1/(x-1)=y y>0 then 8y+4y=43 y=43/12 2^1/(1-x)=43/12 2=(43/12)^(1-x) (1-x)(Ln43-ln12)=Ln2 X=(Ln43-ln12+ln2)/(ln(43)-ln12)

Wow the problem changed in the middle... This would mean 8*2^1/(x-1)+9*3^1/(x-1)=43. When X

From 2^(u+1) + 2^u= 43 then 2^u (2 +1) = 43....then 2^u × 3 = 43 then u=Ln 43/ Ln 3 x Ln 2...and so forth

I get it. The base of the second term was meant to be 3. So the original problem is wrong, but the solution is right. I don't see that too often. 😂

You obviously meant the second base to be 3. I solved it with both bases 2 and got an ugly expression: (ln(43/3)/ln2 - 1)/(ln(43/3)/ln2 - 2). You should probably redo this video.

😂😂 made fool all including himself its 2+3 combo not 2 + 2... And soln is 16+27= 43 .. catch it
