Thank you so much for this! I've never seen a guide that didn't have something to complain about; they are often incomplete, outdated, or biased, BUT I still think it's a good idea to see one, and I appreciate the people who make them because, like you said, you can learn to put a name with the face. Super excited for your future 127 (and also for Taeyong) reactions!

Also YES you need to react to Taeyongs stuff before he leaves (*begins crying*). Doyoung has his solo debut later this month, and Jaehyun is supposed to have his later this summer, I believe August but I never believe SM this far out.

I think that the whole symbolism of 7+2+1 members lining up with the name of NCT 127 is a lore than fans have mostly recognised/invented after the fact. It was their name from the beginning in 2016 and it was certainly based on the longitude of Seoul right from the beginning (it was in all their introductions and promotion materials/talks) I don't think that there was a specific plan to add exactly those members in exactly that order. I certainly haven't seen any evidence of it being planned out or discussed by SM previously. I think that things were HIGHLY in flux, especially in the early days, with manyplanned expansions to NCT that never materialised. But that is just my hypothesis. I just don't think it's that highly orchestrated; I think SM tried stuff, some didn't work out and they rejigged their plans many times. But there is no real evidence either way :) This is a quick and basic one and does a good job of giving names and faces. I hope you really enjoy all the exploration of NCT. I'll see you there :D

Thank you so much for reacting to a guide! Just wanted to add that this is from around when Jungwoo debuted/his hiatus era and so he has grown a lot! Jungwoo is one of NCTs many aces being extremely talented, he debuted in NCT U Boss (His 127 debut being Regular) as a main vocalist, and is DoJaeJung's main dancer and has been chosen by Bada Lee as a top dancer in the industry plus has shown potential as a rapper. He is also one of NCT's mood makers and their variety king making everyone laugh all the time and often being referred to as their happy virus and their puppy and is universally loved by his members in 127 and other NCT members as well as members of many other groups. He MC'd on MuCore with Lee know from Stray kids and Minju from Izone/Sullyoon from Nmixx for 2 years as well! Everyone who meets him says he's kind and hilarious and just a genuine guy. Anyways just wanted to write thing because people tend to look at him as a filler member because he is definitely overlooked and underutilized, but thank you a lot for reacting to NCT I look forward to them daily! And also he doesn't speak Chinese 😭

I hope that the second part of the guide that someone(I dont remember the name) made in 2024 is better. The 2024 guide for NCT as a whole was great and the second part is going to be about the members.

Yes, I think the Chain mini album (all in Japanese) is definitely worth reacting to next. It has 5 songs and personally, I really like all of them. You've already heard the Korean version of Limitless I think? The Japanese version is on the Chain album and I like it even better - partly the way the words sound and I think the mix is a little different too. "Come Back" you won't hear in Korean till the "Regular/Irregular" album, but I think I like the Japanese version of this song better as well. I guess you'll get to hear for yourself! Looking forward to it. 😊

Beside the titles song and b-side in albums, i highly recommend the other songs as Timeless (Taeil, Doyoung, Jaehyun), Coming Home (Taeil, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Haechan). They are the ballad song very wonderful!

When Jungwoo was speaking Chinese he was with some of the WayV and dream boys so you’re not crazy lol! I’m personally Jaehyun biased and I was a little sad this guide only said stuff about his visuals and the fact he can speak English 💀 but since you’re just trying to learn names it’s fine you’ll find out more about all of their personalities through variety content. But I am super excited for his solo I’m genuinely surprised he’s getting a solo album next I expected the next one to be mark tbh but I guess bc his enlistment is in ~2 years it makes sense they’d wanna start his solo career now. Fun fact he’s also an actor!

Not a huge fan of this guide, personally I recommend " Guide to NCT 127 (Get to know them better) UPDATED 2020 by SsNo00nPeY" as its a lot more comprehensive comparably, but they're both not really updated so it's personal preference really. Maybe you could watch that other one to supplement what you learned here, but it's not the end of the world. Taeyong enlists April 10th so I would definitely love a lil Taeyong special! 3:10 Yeah there's no official support for this, it's just a cool fact that the fans like a lot lol 7:10 Taeil (Tay-ill) is correct! 17:10 It's a bit of a running joke in the fandom regarding how many February birthdays there are in NCT lol 6 of the neos birthdays all fall in that month (and mine) 17:50 Well you wouldn't really recognize anyone since Jungwoo was visiting an NCT China line livestream lol and this was Chenle and Renjun from Dream and Kun, Winwin and Lucas from WayV 18:27 It was exactly who you thought it was on that song LMAO no clue why whoever made this guide would use a song from that man of all people 19:12 Jaehyun is having a solo debut and i think its expected around August? But Doyoung's solo debut was also confirmed as they've already started dropping the teasers and concept photos and videos for it! He has a full album coming with the title song "Youth" on April 22nd! Doyoung will be the 3rd NCT member to have a solo debut, Taeyong was first last year and Ten had his solo debut in February. For the next 127 album, I definitely recommend the Chain album! None of the japanese albums are really "promoted", but they are legitimate comebacks so definitely worth the listen.
