His answer is wrong. See my comment above. He didn't raise e to W(...) (RHS) at 5:14 as he did LHS. Wrong answer propagates from there. The answer I gave does solve the original problem.

Your solution is incorrect. At 5:14 you raised e to the LHS, but you didn't do the same to the RHS. The answer should look like: 1 x = ----------------------------- W(-ln(8)/2) e Plugging this into wolfram alpha calculator gives us ~ -1.6328i, which is the correct anser, not -0.559. (Note that the answer is complex.)
