The whole chicken with its head cut off hits home, we raised chickens & it was a fairly regular thing at a certain point, usually after they quit laying eggs. But I'll never forget watching them running around headless & trying with all my might to grasp what I was seeing. One in particular ran around at least twice as long as the rest, & you can be sure my brain hurt that day.

That chicken story is so true lol. My husband was in the navy and during his jungle training, the recruits had to kill a chicken exactly by spinning it by its neck and popping the head off. Head popped off, chicken body fell onto ground, got up and proceeded to randomly run around with blood spurting out 😂 my husband said all the men screamed like little girls and till this day, he is still traumatised by it 😂😂😂😂
@deannepitre4191 Жыл бұрын
Once when I was a teenager we did that to our whole chicken flock - about 15. My 10 year old brother loved it. I got the job of plucking them. Not fun!
@donnahampton3632 Жыл бұрын
On chicken day, my dad swung them around until the head popped off. After they quit running around the yard, my mom dunked them in hot water in a bucket and plucked them. My job was to boil fresh water for my mom and cut the chickens up and freeze them. My sister got to stay in her room and read. Lucky duck.
@Grafted_into_the_vine10 ай бұрын
My mom used a very sharp hatchet rather than the neck wringing thing. Still scary to me, since we would do several chickens at a time, and she was always once and done with the chopping...never missed once. The dancing headless chickens were actually just kind of funny to me and my brothers at the time, but my little sister and I got stuck with plucking the nasty wet dead things that sometimes were still able to fart. Kinda surprised Jose, with his penchant for fart jokes, didn't work that into his set somehow.
