I sure believe that Regan had to have been influenced by Martin because the style is so similar even the body movements and facial expressions are similar. There is a certain amount of intellectual comedy that reminds me of Carlin also but much less than Regan following Martin.

Whenever I watch a Brian Regen video, I get these fits of uncontrollable laughter! I have to hit the pause button at intervals, so I can resume breathing! I had a dental emergency and the option was to get a root canal or Me WAIT! Can you just pull it? I literally stopped him mid sentence and asked him that. Answer "Yes I can". Here's the funny part, he made sure I was numb before pulling my tooth. It was the second back tooth on the left side. So getting to it was a treat, the Dr. goes "Your about to feel a little "Pressure" and I started laughing while he was pulling my tooth and he and his assistant thought that was strange because they had no idea why I was laughing and it was because the joke @14:30 talking about "Pain" and "Pressure" It was the first time that they have witnessed a person laughing while getting a tooth pulled. When the girl walked me out she told all of her co workers "this guy was laughing during the procedure" My name is Happy and this happened about a year ago.

I woke up one night with just HORRENDOUS pain in the lower right side of my abdomen. I thought maybe gas bubble so I went to the bathroom. It didn't help. I tried to go back to bed and I collapsed on the floor on the way. My husband (at the time, now he's my ex) was still in bed and half asleep. He threw me my phone and I legit called my own ambulance. I wasn't gonna trust him to wake up fast enough to get me there. Anyway, long story short, that was my first kidney stone, and I've had countless since.

The way this video ends is just mindblowingly perfect. Regan is incredibly physical. He uses his whole body and face for the joke. Also: the way this whole set ends-it’s all about humility. That’s the throughline: humility. I have a horrible suspicion that Brian is a Republican/MAGA shit-head, but, regardless, I think the dude has some core goodness. Really funny people always indict themselves.
