Thanks David! I've written to you a couple times but never got any reply. I made everybody who made a Japan Vinyl Tag Video a small video thank you I wanted to send is along if you wouldn't mind, even if you don't have time to watch. If you could send me a message on @TokyoRecordStyle on Instagram or tokyorecordstyle at gmail just so I could get it to you, I'd appreciate it :-)

I didn’t know Commune was still happening!
@tokyorecordstyleАй бұрын
@@ryanmundt9628 Yeah they moved it across the street, back by Gold’s Gym, not sure when but guessing it was a while ago. Still really cool and basically just about 1/2 the size. Good place to know about :-)

So much fun seeing the city again from this «perspective», was there last summer for approx a month, tokyo, hiroshima, osaka, kyoto, nakatsugava (walking the postal trail) and back to tokyo - such a great country, such wonderful cities :) Thanks for taking us on these «daily life» trips around town :)
@tokyorecordstyleАй бұрын
Than you for the kind and thoughtful comments. Glad to hear you had such a wonderful visit to Japan! Postal Trail? I'm curious - can't say I've heard of it. Come back and visit anytime and look me up when you do!
@AndreSjobergАй бұрын
@@tokyorecordstyle Sure will if I manage to get back there :) The Trail is the Nakasendo Trail, it’s the old postal route going from kyoto to tokyo, we only hiked a small part of it, a day of walking, but it was a wonderful trip :)
@tokyorecordstyleАй бұрын
@@AndreSjoberg Nakasendo sounds way more familiar! I never heard it called the old postal route but that totally makes sense! I would love to someday tackle a part of that. I'm sure it would be magical!
@AndreSjobergАй бұрын
@@tokyorecordstyle It is a wonderful trip indeed :) The Postal route name comes from it going through a lot of postal towns, not sure if’s more of a «western expression» used to sell the hiking trips or not, some of the towns being still very well preserved so segments of the trail are more «trip friendly» in terms of being able to walk from one town to the next in a day :) We stayed in Nakatsugawa and bussed to the «start» at Magomejuku, and then hiked for approx 4 hours to Tsumago-juku, the next postal town, and then took the bus back to Nakatsugawa :) Working on an edit from the trip to post on my channel here sometime this winter :) Have you ever been to one of the norwegian coffee shops in Tokyo called «Fuglen»? It would probably make for a fun little segment in one of your videos, it’s a really strange story, but this small norwegian coffee shop decided to branch out to japan, and now have several coffee shops in the Tokyo area, one in Shibuya, one in Asakusa, and a couple of other places - well worth a visit for the norwegian specialty «waffle with brown goat cheese» and some proper coffee ;) Some very nice nordic vintage interiors from the 50s and 60s (and most of it is for sale even) and cocktails in the evening :)
@tokyorecordstyleАй бұрын
Thank you for this long and thoughtful and detailed reply. I will have to jot all this down for when I can make this journey myself. And YES, I go to Fuglen frequently - I often wondered about its funny name, I didn't realize it was Norwegian! Thats makes me love it even a little more than I already did! Wonderful! Please stay in touch and next time you are in Tokyo, let's have a coffee and Fuglen (and maybe a record store dig afterwards!) Best from Tokyo!

Sorry the man on the street was a bit of a bust but it was fun to see none the less. BTW - Headed there next month, on the 8th. I should have the following weekend free of co-workers if you want to hook up on either the 16th or the 17th.
@tokyorecordstyleАй бұрын
By all means! Let's do it! I can probably make either day work! Looking forward to it! Keep in touch!

That was SUPER FUN! I love just following you around. I know it must take a lot of work to make these videos look so elfin cool! Loving your music picks and so embarrassed for your kids when you said, 'making sweet love to my wife" like five times, LOL! Good for you guys!! Wish I had a wife of my very own (or husband I should say). Can't wait until the day that you pick me up from the airport.

Thank for that comment! I love making these video, I just wished I had a little more time to do it! Haha. Oh my kids know whats up, but yeah, I should be more mindful what I say on here with them in mind. Yes, get on over here and we can hang! Love from Tokyo :-)

Oh yes, I see the Nemeth influence now in the photos. Especially that bit of a military look with the baggy pants, high ankles, the black socks and huge black boots. That’s pervasive now. Lunchtime now. Later!

If you spoke Japanese, probably would have better luck. I hope it wasnt just because "Oh this foreigner in my store" vibes. I unfortunately got a lot of that on my travels.
