This continues to be my favorite of the franchise. The practical effects and creative kills are top tier. Having Nancy back to help a young Patricia and these youngsters really elevated this film. The introduction song is a banger. The lore behind Freddy is disturbing. Having Nancy's dad back to help defeat Freddy was great too. How these dream warriors came together to defend themselves and protect each other was also a great aspect I loved a lot.

Freddy’s origin is so messed up and his new ability of every time he claims a new victim their souls go inside him making him stronger is such a crazy ability. Rip Nancy the fact that Freddy killed off the rest of the Thompson family in this movie especially Nancy was crazy. Rip to a legend

I actually really like that they lean into the more goofy elements cause it allows them to get super creative with what Freddy does rather than if they chose to make it more serious & pure horror

This movie is so iconic. The song, Patricia Arquette with that scream, "Welcome to primetime bitch!", all the amazing practical effects. Can genuinely say the day I saw this movie cemented me as a lifelong horror fan.

This is the 2nd best one after 4 imo. Robert Englund’s best Freddy, some of the greatest kills, dream sequences, and characters in the series, the return of Nancy, and very quotable.

Wes Craven only hinted through his series never really fully saying Freddy was one, even though that was his original story but if you really pay attention it’s obvious he really liked kids (don’t think I can say the word on youtube) and he got rid of the idea because “for fear of seeming exploitative” so basically they thought it would be too much shock for the audience which is so weird to me because stuff like that was happening during that time heck I still think missing children on milk cartons was still a thing when this movie came out but the remake does explicitly say he really likes kids because of course different times

The doctor is Pricilla Pointer, she is still alive and 100 years old. Shes the mother of Amy Irving first film Carrie as Sue Snell, the girl that tried to help Carrie. jus sayin... Even if you don't watch all of them, you should still watch New Nightmare. The first, this one, and NN are all fan favorites. I actually like the 4th, but not because of the acting or writing, which are dogshit but the effects and all around look to the film is the best of the series.
