A Once in a Decade Glitch Has Hit Destiny (& Bungie Said "Have Fun")

Normally I wait until these glitches get fixed before posting about them (and it's rare that I even do in the first place), but this is a once in a decade moment for this game and I feel like I've been given every green light possible to talk about how ridiculous it is. Bungie clearly does not care if people use or abuse it, so I'm just gonna address it, talk about it and we can move on with our day. Good luck in Trials this weekend.

You can steal other peoples damage by using witherhoard + a eremite with dead messenger trait it just leeches all the shotgun pellets and counts them as yours i did like 9 mil on atheon while whole team was using ammits and they did no damage at all

got my first ever gm this week thanks to this! i was already planning on trying for it when devil's lair was up next week, but when my friend saw the glitch, she said "hang on i think we could do the absolute funniest thing ever." proceeded to laugh harder than i ever have watching her single-handedly turn the boss into a fine red mist. @@YuriG03042the only reason why anyone looks back at laser tag unfavorably was because of crucible. If destiny simply gave up on trying to make crucible competitive halo 2.0 they would be able to untie their hand and just make it ludicrous. Destiny is not, will not, and has never been a competitive shooter. Too many of its core systems do not lend to it being so. And their obsession with tweaking crucible constantly to try and lead the player base in treating it as such have never worked well. The only time this sorta worked was trials from D1 year one. And most people don’t remember how much of a cluster fuck that was back in the day. Two shot thorns, sniper rifles with armor piercing rounds that could 1-shot body shot with final round, self rez warlocks and on and on.

The glitch requires you to: Have the craftable weapons required, Limit your fps, Click both weapons in the shape weapons screen quickly. Youll know you did it right if the frame for the weapon is different than what it is suppose to be.

@@ChillyWing yeah, that's for sure good enough. Solo legend lost sectors is a great way to start getting into solo content. You still have to play smart and learn build synergy, good positioning, ammo management, enemy mechanics, and spawns. So, it's never going to be a breeze, which imo is what makes it fun. I love doing solo dungeons and GM's, and I'm the kind of player who doesn't hit pinnacle cap until the end of the season, if ever lol.

Yeah, what's the deal with that? Bungie lets the frame rate issues spiral out of control for the thousandth time, gives the community carte blanche to enjoy themselves for a weekend with silly combinations, and already is planning a fix. It sounds like in spite of that, their ideal scenario is every player in the community being "noble" and "respecting the integrity of the game" and nobody in the entire player base touches or has fun with some of the goofy combinations, while in fact it is explicitly allowed.

I've unironically been using the season the plunder LMG mixed with a shotgun with ric rounds, mulligun and killing tally, and it is one of the most fun weapons I've used, although I've been thinking about swaping killing tally for chain reaction just for more fun and explosions

It's really funny that it's also fairly simple to do. Click on the weapon you want the frame of, and *very quickly* move to the other weapon you want the frame on. Some notes, capping FPS to 30 helps, although not required. Lagging your internet via downloading games, streaming videos, etc, will also help quite dramitcally. A friend of mine had 1000+ ping, and was able to do it consistently.

I will say at first I was PISSED but after about 5 matches in like 15 minutes I realized "Hey I'm getting trials rep faster now!" And figured when in Rome. So if it's clear the whole teams packing heat, I'll just "try" and fight but really I've accepted my fate. Can't do much when they're shooting 5000 rounds that bounce around corners

Since Bungie gave us the go-ahead to mess around for a bit, the only regret I have is not being able to get a BXR with screaming swarm since the crafting pages seem to be too far away to reliably glitch swarm onto it :') RIP my fantasy of an igniting poison cloud weapon that can be fired from range, but honestly what can be made is just so insane and cool. I feel bad for PvP players, but in PvE it is a blast

I feel like this could be an interesting feature in the game if they were able to fix this. I think the idea of being able to combine weapon archetypes could be super fun! If they could reign this in a balanced way, this could be a whole new aspect to the game! It reminds me of one the most loved aspects from the old Dead Rising games, everyone loved being able to combine weapons and this could really be something amazing that come out of this!

This legit reminds me of a mod for Quake 3 Arena called alternate fire. Every weapon had a OP alt fire mode, even ammo boxes could be shot to explode. Sometimes I wonder if this is actually part of Bungie devs doing some sort of testing as part of upcoming content. Who knows? Full auto shotguns, burst fire linear fusions...Things like this would even be seen in games like Borderlands 3. Fun and very interesting to say the least

@@jimmyjab8090 I see where you are coming from, you are not wrong at all. But I think differently, I value FUN over PRIDE. I don't care if other players have gotten the solo flawless emblem. Just so you know I will know how it feels to have my achievements become irrelevant, I have solo flawless all the dungeons (excluding ghosts of the deep, I don't have it). Of course, it may not be healthy for the game, but live a little, its a game after all.

@@oreoxiv6475 everyone’s entitled to an opinion but that’s the reason titles are in the game that’s why guardian ranks were introduced so players can show off their achievements and a lot of players spend a lot of time grinding those things out, this bug makes a mockery of those achievements agree or not care or not it’s definitely bad for the game overall. I made my peace with it a long time ago.
