Sreetips talks about that little explosion while pouring shot. He calls it a “steam explosion” and says it’s random. He loves when it happens though because it produces that dust and apparently it makes the refining process easier. 🤷♂️

Very cool video! I didn't know it was that labor intensive to refine gold. I just figured you melt the flakes, dust, whatever, and pour it into a mold! I learned something new today! Oh and fun to sky-dive!! I'd love to do that myself :)

I'm glad you learned something new, that's always a good feeling! I def recommend taking the big dive. It is an amazing experience!

No way could I ever purposefully jump out of a perfectly good airplane. That thing would have to be plummeting to earth for me to even consider jumping. Honestly, I’d probably convince myself to ride it out, I don’t think I could jump even if my life depended on it. I respect it tho. Cojones Grandes my bruddah. GRRANNNDDEESSSSS!! 😂😂😂

Really enjoying your videos. Would you consider putting the chemical equations on screen or possibly writing them up in between scenes? You might have a video covering that information that I just haven’t found yet. Thanks a million

Love the video.. Question thow, how come you didn't use any Sulfuric Acid to drop out any Lead that might have been in the Gold ?
@LithicMetals3 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it Ronnie! Great question too. Rest assured, I did indeed add Sulfuric acid to the solution. Apparently it just didn't make the cut. It's difficult sometimes to get all the details when combing through so many hours of footage.

the bomb pour was from too much borax brother
@LithicMetals Жыл бұрын
Indeed. Lesson learned on that one... yikes!

I was a little surprised you didn't add a bit of H2SO4 to precipitate out any lead, seeing as it was "wild" gold.
@LithicMetals2 жыл бұрын
Rest assured I did. I sometimes don't catch everything in the editing process. I'll get better at this stuff! Thanks for watching!! 😁

Inquarting explosion. I suspect the gold had a very small piece of matrix quartz still attached.

You over heated the metal. It will do that and turn the metal into sand like material.
@LithicMetals Жыл бұрын
Overheated it? I'm not quite sure what you mean?
@SouthernSilverMomma Жыл бұрын
The explosions are usually caused by trapping water inside the molten metal which then boils and cause the shot to explode. Several other channels have had this happen and they can explain it better. I'm just a newbie lol.
@MichaelFerrell-pq1kn8 ай бұрын
Man that shot pour was so weird. I've never seen that happen before. If you find out a good theory please inform us
@LithicMetals8 ай бұрын
The only thing I can think of is that the borax caused that reaction.
@josephpecoul6532 Жыл бұрын
I saw it in a Sreetips video the way he explained it was you have a certain amount of heat on the metal as you start the poor as you pour you have less metal but the same amount of heat you get that metal really hot poured it into the and it created a steam explosion and it obliterated the metal that's what I got out of it
@michaelbraga9620 Жыл бұрын
The explosion was a steam explosion. Moisture trapped in the alloy exploded from rapid cooling and contraction of the metal
