Jeff, you are an artisan of the highest magnitude, do not ever think otherwise. The sheer beauty of this hand pour, along with the hand stamping is nothing short of magnificent. The precision of your work, coupled with the rawness of irregularity in the process, puts any machine pour and stamping to bitter shame. This is the pinnacle of sublimity. Bravo, Maestro!

Why don’t you dump it all into a filter to get rid of the most liquid each time. There appeared to be a lot of liquid left each time you dumped it.

These videos are amazingly instructive and relaxing as well, thank you! 2 quick questions - 1. When do you decide whether to use sulphuric or not as part of refining? I noticed it wasn't part of this refining. 2. What's the benefit of a stannous test after dissolving the pure gold in aqua regia? I can see why you need it after the SMB step, but If it comes back negative in aqua regio, where are you left? Where else could it be?

Two questions - what happened to the extra gold that didn’t make it into the bar, and also how do you safely dispose of all that toxic solution?
@MEDIATRIUMPH
@MEDIATRIUMPH Күн бұрын
1, hazardous waste disposal facility, so you can properly dispose of it. 2, require more gold to make more gold bars.

Can you use this method with gold too?
@LithicMetals
@LithicMetals 12 күн бұрын
Yes, but you wouldn't want to. There would be traces of copper in the gold, which would have to be refined again. There's better alternatives for dropping gold out of solution.

Sir, when gold is in the form of dust and nitric acid is used to purify the gold, what should we do if the color of the dust turns white? Is white also pure gold or something else?
@LithicMetals
@LithicMetals 12 күн бұрын
White? After you dropped it out of solution? While it's still in the beaker? If that's the case, you added too much smb and it settled over the gold. A proper rinse procedure should wash it away
