I just saw this for the first time, 12/28/23. It’s adorable! I have never liked spiders but having a little gray jumping spider living on the ceiling above my bed cured me of the morbid fear I had. When I didn’t see him in his usual spot, I searched and found his little lifeless body on my bedspread. That was nearly 50 years ago! I still think of him from time to time, like a long lost friend. He wasn’t a peacock but was special nonetheless!

I love Nature, I might just show this to my older sister who has a huge fear of spiders, and show her that they aren't that scary. Spiders, sharks, snakes and others are just animals, and don't deserve the bad reputation that people give them. They are very misunderstood animals that deserve respect and our understanding of them, when we get to know them, we get used to them and our fear goes away. I love Nature, I love the animals and plants that are within it, sure some are scary, but when you get to know and understand them, you'll understand that they aren't so bad after all. Growing up in Australia, spiders are part of everyday life. Some are poisonous and scarey, like Funnel Webs. Some look large and scarey, but are actually very timid, like Huntsmans. Others are clever and trainable, like the Garden Orb Weaver. They build their large, sticky webs only at night, quite often right across pathways, but if you carefully move them away then the next night these spiders will rebuild their webs in the position you moved their webs too.
