Reeeeally miss your videos when you are unable to post. Most interesting and may I say soothing? Or maybe comforting. Love your family and how you both are working so hard to build your homestead! 😊. I watched the two tractor videos last night. My husband asked what I was watching and I said I was watching someone in Michigan change the O rings in a 1953 International tractor hydraulic system. 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 Better than anything on tv.

Oh my goodness chill everyone! THERE IS INSULATION ON ALL OUTSIDE WALLS! This couple have got their bases covered to protect the house for winter! He even built the walls thicker for deeper insulation. Please watch the progression of their work they are amazing! Rant over! You guys are just the best and the whole house will be amazing! Can’t wait to see Mavericks room.

lol, I think some people are confused about which walls are interior, and also some people aren't used to gray mineral wool insulation so they think the exterior bays don't have anything :) Thanks

Anyone that has been involved in remodeling.............not redecorating........knows things NEVER GO AS PLANNED and understands how plans can change! Who hasn't started tearing something out and discovers problems they didn't expect? All anyone can do is address the problem and move on. Things always end up costing more than expected and take longer.

That Maverick is adorable! LOL!! He's got the most beautiful blonde hair. :) You had no way of knowing about all the rotted areas around your front door, so you didn't see the outside renovation coming. But it worked out to your advantage, which is a good thing. It was good to see the unexpected because it showed how you both tackled it, and you seriously made it look quick and easy. Sometimes, those "curve balls" in life can end up being a good thing!! And so, you won't have to worry about doing the front part anymore after you get finished. Thank you for posting these videos!! I really do enjoy watching them. :) You guys have a wonderfully blessed weekend!!! :) :) :)

Ha ha. I loved it when Ashley commented “the viewers are handing you screws”. The house is looking great :) We’ve been busy getting ready for winter. We went up and cut some fire wood a couple of weeks ago. We will be heading up on Sunday to get some more. We usually have to travel up to two hours to get our wood. Our hay is going be delivered next week, we got 12 tons this year. Hopefully that will be enough for the winter. We have to get the spot ready for the hay too this weekend. Take care, see ya.

One thing I have learned about myself, is that if I get bummed if something takes away from my timeline, I have to put it out of my mind, because sure as heck - if I don't, I start burning extra energy that I need to carry on and finish the job. Really fight that depression if it is sprung on you. It is the greatest enemy in reaching your goals. After you finish the inside of the house, you will have a space for everything, and everything will be in that place. Then you can celebrate!

Whether you only do one thing ( such as your or Belle's room) progress is progress. Your having to tackle the outside before you planned did take some time; however, I'm sure you will make your goals. Ashley, the front door just pops inside as well as out. I don't know how you guys feel about shudders, but navy ones to match the door would look very nice, I think.

This is the reality of doing a whole-house renovation. The space dictates the order that tasks are completed, and sometimes it's not possible to do everything in neat little chapters. But it's exciting nonetheless to see Maverick's room coming together, he'll have a nice cozy room when winter comes. And the living room is going to really go quick once that's done. Love seeing all the progress.

guys calm down, he has 5.5 inch (regular insulation runs around 3.5 inches, so he actually overdid it) insulation on the outside walls covered by some plastic & the walls that are inside the house don’t have any. it’s common to not have insulation between walls on the interior of a house, since it’s meant to keep the outdoor coldness out usually. my house doesn’t have interior insulation & I live in michigan too, it’s totally warm in my house in the winter haha. it would be nice to keep the sound out but it’s not necessary honestly

Good thinking putting the Cat 6 wire. We needed a high speed connection in the living room and there wasn't one. Had to run it along the underside of the roof overhang outside and on the face of an interior wall because it was just impossible to get to that wall from the attic. You've definitely saved yourselves or someone else a lot of trouble in the future.
