Today on my lunch break, I lied down on the grass and sang this song.. “lie supine away with your back to the ground. Dis- and reconnect to the resonance now. You were never an island.” These lyrics have been healing my troubled soul. I’m so grateful this masterpiece exists.

Saw them in Nottingham in 2004. I wasn’t all that familiar with them and was set for a bit of a disappointment after seeing Tool - boy was I ever wrong. Never seen a better performance by any band. As the last notes ended you could hear a pin drop and there was a kind of hushed reverence only heard at classical concerts. Phenomenal. I echo what others have said, go see them if you can, regardless of cost.

I just love around 2:30 the vocal line "into each other" where Maynard does this tiny rapid thing using ( 8va, b7, 5 ) in rapid succesion as he sometimes does. Makes up for the previous bit where was out of tune.. I think he's just FEELING it, and when those flatly pitched notes happen (sometimes often), that's the mental state he's in. Makes up for it completely by the soul he's shining.

A PERFECT CIRCLE - DESILLUSIONED (2018) En esta MAGNÍFICA INTERPRETACIÓN VOCAL de Maynard James Keenan la letra hace referencia sobre la ADICCIÓN QUE LAS NUEVAS GENERACIONES MODERNAS TIENEN A LA GRATIFICACIÓN INSTANTÁNEA. La "OBSESIÓN POR EL SILICIO", cada día qué pasa los SMARTPHONES, LOS LENTES VR Y OTRAS TECNOLOGÍAS provocan que las personas estén más DESCONECTADAS DE LAS EXPERIENCIAS AUTÉNTICAS EN ESTA BELLA, MARAVILLOSA Y COMPLICADA VIDA 😌. I mean. Imagine singing the same songs every night for a couple hours, traveling, awkward sleep schedules, and juggling other business/family/writing etc. it takes a toll on a person. He’s far from perfect. Also. Consider where they are at in the tour. That always has an effect as well. If they’re at the beginning or at least the first half you’ll likely get a better performance, say, if you see them towards the end of a tour.
