This is such a beautiful and tragic song that is LITERALLY a reflection of humanity’s failures and shortcomings… telling us “be better” while instead we rot ourselves thinking we are all greater than one another and even think we own this Earth. Constantly telling ourselves lies… We failed to recognize that we needed to be here for one another and we will reap what we sow

@cuddy637 жыл бұрын
Clever Metaphor I'm a Cree and I'm 100% pure blood. Iam from Thunderchild First Nation. I asked some simple questions and you get all bent out of shape. I'm only doing it to remind you that we are still here! Our way or life and our customs and traditions are not something you can just purchase at a costume store. And as for dying, well this is how your people view it. Death has nothing to do with my point of view. Every thing I have said has to do with reminding your people that it's time to stop with with stereotypes and the prejudice. Again, I asked very simple questions and you respond in anger. Clearly now, you can see the difference between me and you.
@cuddy637 жыл бұрын
As for being a ambassador. I guess you could say I speak for my nation and all the cree nations. At least I'm brave enough to speak and say something about it. I guess it goes to show that you were never taught respect or even empathy.

maynard brings the lyrics!
@marcelwilliams82367 жыл бұрын
judy eschrich yes he does but Maynards writing process in all three bands is that the music has to be done first, he draws inspiration for the lyrics & melodies based off the music & the overall feel he's getting...,the vibrational frequency if you will, now of course i am a Maynard fan, Tool & A Perfect Circle are two of my tops, like pretty much THE! top, Tool a little more just because what they do is just out of this world & its more complicated (not that APC isnt) but i love A Perfect Circle as well, as well as Puscifer also but what I've notice is people tend to only focus on Maynard & don't really give the other guys credit & to me you're not a real fan, i bet alot don't know it was Adam Jones that pretty much started Tool with friend Maynard & it was Maynard that asked Billy to sing APC before they had one, it could have been the other way around but i know APC was Billys project before Maynard said "yeah i'll do it" so yeah just know the guys in the band are just as genius as Maynard himself is #2018

This song was the anthem of my first acid trip. Sitting on a riverbank on a cold, cloudy day. As he said "take a look around" I blinked and the sun broke through the clouds, illuminating the water and trees surrounding me. It was amazing. This song will always remind me of that day

"We must refine our moral virtue until it approaches the sophistication of our technical genius, lest we lose the world." -Dr. Jordan Peterson
@Joshualbatross7 жыл бұрын
The lyrics to this song instantly reminded me of the Peterson quote. It seems like every month some new technological development is made or some new gadget comes out, but we haven't made any significant moral developments since maybe the Bible and the disparity could do us in if we don't wise up. Dr. Peterson has made that aim his life's work and I recommend his videos to anyone who hasn't heard of him yet.
@Joshualbatross7 жыл бұрын
You obviously don't know shit about Jordan Peterson so for you to summarize his entire body of work in one ideologically-driven sentence actually makes you the pseudo-intellectual, by definition. I'm actually very curious as to who you consider to be a real intellectual, because you call Peterson a pseudo-intellectual despite the fact that he has over 8,000 citations among reputable scientific publications, he's been a tenured professor for over 20 years, and his lab has produced psychology models that are accepted and used by the science community (hence the citations). His work covers an enormous plethora of issues, (mostly centered around the notion of taking responsibility for oneself) and the pronoun issue (which is not the reason I follow him, as you suggested) is only of import because it was the launch point for his career as a public figure. Anyway, I'm glad you made your hateful comment. It will surely make people look into his work, a la the Streisand Effect. Have a nice day.

Noah , Joshua and Rory I have no "big" words or, an extensive education to pull from to agree or disagree with any you. What I would like to say is that all three of you seem very knowledgeable and educated beyond the perception of " metal heads" that society see's as simply disruptive, loud and violent. Y'all (I'm from Texas) seem to really care about how the message is received and perceived from one another and the slight discrepancy of your differences saddens me because, I really do feel like Maynard tries really hard to show (tell) us how the "world" we live individually....would be much better if we lived it "together"! Putting aside our differences in perception and instead come together with our similarities to create a better way of living. All three of you seem to be individuals that I would love see come together with the knowledge and education you all(y'all) posses to help open the minds of the programmed and brain washed society that Maynard so beautifully does in his music. Peace and joy to you three and keep up the good work in your journey through this life keeping aware, knowledgeable and passionate about the messages we receive through music , media, propaganda. Also, thank you both for introducing a new name for me to research his works and views so that I may also try my best to a part of the "conversation" of individuals that come together to discuss such(in my opinion) a profound songwriter and message. Without individuals (you thought you were and island) like y'all, I would just be reading a bunch of uneducated, shoot from the hip praises or dislikes in form of schoolyard disagreements. Thank y'all again for such a deep conversation and all differences aside...thank y'all for having the same passion and the same taste in great music!
@rickblaine74637 жыл бұрын
By the way...the quote being referred to sound deeply profound itself! I had no knowledge of this person, his background or his ceredintials however, the words in that quote seem to be accurate and worth mentioning. Many people have moments of genius or moments of enlightenment that that produce a thought like that quote that may not align with all they expressed in all their lives or research BUT, still holds a truth that cannot be ignored! I love boxing! I hate floyd mayweather! There is still no way for me to say that he's a bum for whatever reason because his accomplishments state otherwise. In my opinion he may a piece of**** but, that cannot take away the fact...he was a great athlete. I view that quote in the same way. Who ever this man is and whatever he has done, bad or good...that one quote is a notable message that I believe needs to heard and preached across the world.
