I can't put into words how much I love this city, so many beautiful childhood memories here

Brought back some fond memories of the time (1990s) when I used to work and lived there. Enjoyed the city, the food and above all its people. Did my early morning walk on the Corniche everyday after dawn. Enjoyed eating foul in Balad and then drinking mango juice in the famous Malik Al Manga juice place during evenings. Considered the place as a second home away from So. California. Miss the place so much. Wishing the best to the city and its people. Thanks for the video.

There is so much to explore in Jeddah. The city is so big so it feels a lot less congested than, say, Dubai or Doha.

I agree. It's so spacious.

They probably hide during the day from the heat and the sun. Interesting video. No body imagine booking a vacation there.

And rightly so. Al Balad is a very small part of this huge city, and the rest of it is really nothing to write home about.

@@goolaat Sure. It's a rich nation, of course there are things one can spend time and money on. But none of that is special, as in: you can get it only there. And all of it is in a big, dusty city where for 9 months out of 12 you don't really want to spend time outside before dark. It's not cheap, either, and highly inconvenient to get around. Unless people specifically want to feel out an arabic city, they can easily have a better time in Munich, Paris or London.

Is it safe for a blonde british female solo traveller? I'm heading to Jeddah in next couple of weeks and Al Balad looks pretty cool.
@TravelObscurer4 ай бұрын
Hi Wendy. Yes, very safe indeed. It's the blazing sun you have to worry about! Al Balad is great for exploring and stopping for coffee here and there, particularly in the evening. Have fun - Jonathan

As a Jeddah local who lived in both the UK and Jeddah, …I can assure you it’s very safe for a blonde British female solo traveler to be in Jeddah, probably safer than many UK cities I can think of. Let me know if you need any other info I can help with @wendypalmer678
