Question: In 1 Pet 2:9, does the Greek word "genos" appear in the Byzantine, Majority, and Critical textual versions? That's funny, because guess who the early church wrighters are who are the ones who quote gnostic garbage as gospel by mistake most often ? Justin Martyr did it forgeting this thing was in the gospel of Peter, Ireneas did in the Demonstration of Faith and Origen did. They were the ones who went out and debated other people. You dont see it in Cyprian or Melito.

Not if you are a Calvinist like James. You are dead in your sin unable to believe until, God irresistibly draws you to himself and grants the faith required to repent and believe. The natural unregenerate man, cannot be convinced of the Gospel, natural or classical apologetics does nothing for evangelism. We simply need to teach the word of God because salvation comes through faith, and faith by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Evangelism is nothing more or less, than teaching and preaching the word of God to the unbeliever, praying that God by the power of holy writ regenerates their soul and causes them to believe.

This is why I as a Muslim wanting to learn about Christianity had a problem with David Wood and Christian missionaries online didn’t even notice or seem to care. David Wood never once set aside 1 hour or even 30 mins talking about Christianity *without mentioning Islam* on KZbin channel why? Maybe because he thinks Christianity is not strong to rebuke Islam or something? Who knows but why did he never teach Christianity on his channel? While I agree with the importance of participation in church, I don't think it's true that apologetics is only for people who have ministry positions in churches. 1 Peter 3:15 isn't limited to those in ministry. Anybody who engages in evangelism or shares the gospel ought to have some involvement in apologetics because that's how you answer questions and objections that inevitably come your way. Is White trying to make apologetics out to be the exclusive domain of an elite group or something?

No, just the opposite actually. That's the whole point of "there is no *office* of apologist." It isn't some elite group or elevated position, but something every Christian should be prepared to do. And we must be rooted in the Church to help discipline and shape us, it isn't something we do outside of the authorities God places over us to guide and protect his people.
