Well fortunately I do have one good thing about me which is the fact that I am a polyglot, I speak English like an American, Portuguese like a Portuguese man and French like a french man for reasons having to do with my life and I did have 2 years of Latin at university. But let's say I only spoke Portuguese or I only spoke french, this means I could not receive the word of God because I couldn't understand English? O come on ... King James Onlyism is absurd. O yeah BTW way I did say Portuguese and I do live about a hundred miles from Fatima but I am not Catholic. Just wanted to get that straight.

A sincere question to anyone who knows, which better represents the byzantine text type: kjv, nkjv, or something like the esv, or nasb?
@jordyE..
@jordyE.. 2 жыл бұрын
I’m not a textual scholar.. but I imagine the NKJV, the main text is based of the TR, with the M-Text and CT in the footnotes, if you pay attention to the m-text footnotes you’ll by seeing the big picture of the Byzantine text and where it deviates from the TR.
@BiblicalStudiesandReviews

The KJV and NKJV. They are both based on the Textus Receptus. The ESV and NASB are more Alexandrian (using the older terminology). The Textus Receptus is about 98% Byzantine in nature.

In my opinion...when "scholars" decided to remove this verse because "its not in the oldest and best manuscripts" it was a deal breaker. I'm not KJVO...but whenever I open a "modern translation" I know "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God" has been removed. And no amount of reasoning from James White will convince me that that's ok. Acts 8:37 [a]Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

Do you have any evidence this is part of the original text? This is what textual criticism does to discover what the original says and its most likely that this is a variant to try to explain what the eunuch believed. This isn’t a denial of any Christian doctrine to not have this text, simply a variant

This video isn’t valuable because it rebuts opposition to non-Apostolic bibles-it doesn’t in the slightest. It’s valuable because it demonstrates “KJVO” is a proper misnomer for well-meaning people who haven’t dug deep enough. And consequently, JW publicly chews them up. The Antioch-based text is still superior to what JW has done and has said in the matter.

I know its the Word of God I learned about Jesus through that book about the Gospel and the life of Christ my savior, that book has comforted me in very bad times and when I read it I know in my soul in my spirit that its Gods Word and I understand it and feel the love of God and the correction of God at times when my eyes explore its pages. No one denies the significance and validity of the King James Bible or wants you to stop using it. James grew up on the KJV. I grew up with, and use the KJV. I grew up on the KJV and still use it, just not exclusively. I do prefer the TR over the Critical Text, therefore I use the NKJV and MEV more than other translations. Alright let me be clear my Bible the King James I consider it to be infallible inerrant and without contradiction I believe that it is divinely inspired because otherwise what is the point it's just another book otherwise. And that's what everybody should believe about the Bible that they use but I don't get that from people from folks that use the ESV or the NIV or other translations. And I've talked to about 10 people over the past not many. Mostly I'm talking to people with the Hebrew roots or whether or not the Rapture will occur before or after the tribulation I have talked to preterists. And I will say it's very interesting

@@FormerTrucker "my Bible the King James I consider it to be infallible inerrant and without contradiction ... that's what everybody should believe about the Bible that they use but I don't get that from people from folks that use the ESV or the NIV or other translations." Here's the problem, Steven. That's not the view that the King James translators had. That's not the view that, to be honest, any Christian translator or scholar had for most of history. They believed that the original autographs of the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures were the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God - and that they were TRANSLATING those Scriptures into a functional translation for the common man in the common tongue. They did not believe that their translational work itself was inerrant and infallible. The belief that the KJV translation itself is the inerrant and inspired Word of God (not merely a human translation) is a very modern, anachronistic belief that has sprung up, primarily American in origin. Saying you believe something that ESV and NIV readers don't doesn't actually make what you believe to be true. I could say, 'I believe the KJV could sprout wings and fly, I don't see ESV and NIV readers believing that'. That doesn't actually make it true, though. Given its conservative heritage, a vast number of ESV readers (and probably some NIV readers, lol...) believe the Bible to be the inspired and inerrant Word of God, of which theirs is a translation - just like the King James translators believed all those years ago.
