Jimmy and Joezack are tied with 3475, there was a scoring miscalculation earlier in the season

Yeah I thought it was funny they chose this scoring method, thinking it would result in no ties. It only works on the show Guts because events one through four are multiples of 100, then on the aggro crag they change it up. Using these aggro crag points for each episode for the entire season is the exact same as using 4/2/0 for the whole season, or 5/3/1, or 3/2/1, or 100/41/17, or gold bar/bouncy ball/thumbnail clippings. It could still end in ties. They should do 300/200/100 for each episode, then keep a "cragg braig" type episode as the final episode of the season, with aggro craig scoring in case of ties.

⁠@@Azar002technically 100/41/17 would be different because a 1st+3rd would not be the same as two 2nds like the other point systems you mentioned. But I firmly believe that they saw all the comments about have Crag scoring (where people meant 300/200/100 for the season and 725/550/375 for the final ep) and misunderstood, accidentally thinking people meant to do 725/550/375 for every episode and that lead to this

this is penance for one of the most unfair trades that Jake sneakily pulled off. Season 2 (episode 1? 2? or 3?) Joezack easily has the win halfway through the game. Jake convinces a trade for Joezack's winner for 2 swaps (no stipulations given at the time as to when those trades must be made). But for some dumb reason when they are going to use their trade swaps, Jake forces their trade swaps to be done within the first 10 seconds of the show going solely on the names on the arena board, not after the player introductions (to get an idea of who might win based on size/confidence/etc, as they traditionally do). So in the end, Joezack gave up a known winner and in return had to guess based on name-only who to pick. Jake's string of bad luck -- that's karma.

You know, I remember back when I watched Guts as a little kid, every time they did the high jump event I was praying that at least once one of those kids would do a Fosbury Flop (the high jump technique that has been the most dominant at the Olympics and World Athletics Championships for the last 50+ years) and I realize now that hoping for 10-14 year olds to perform that high jump technique, even by accident, is a lot to ask for, but damn it would've been cool.

There needs to be a "Playing Watching Guts" drinking game😂: WhenJoez gets mad at a spotter, take a shot. When Jake's contestant gets hit with a penalty, take a shot for each penalty. Automatic double shot if it's a DQ. (Could be to cover any player, to make it more fun). Anytime the one spotter points at his hand, take a shot. When someone references the advantage of the purple Crag route (which is identical to the blue and red routes), take a shot. Feel free to add more ideas for rules to this...

you had me until the reference of the crag routes... you are totally off on that one. Obviously people have researched it and more kids have won on purple overall... now you could say that is all luck and comes out in the wash... but I have watched enough Guts so far to say that Red absolutely has the hardest route (at least in season 1). They get hit with the most rocks, and it is easier to get confused as to which actuators to hit. This episode was a perfect example, the rocks came down and blocked one of Reds actuators and cost him the potential win.

If I had to guess I would say Blue and Purple are probably pretty damn close to equal... just more kids won with purple so people say that is the easiest even though that is probably just random stats, I mean some route is going to win more in certain sample size... but from what I have seen Red has the roughest battle overall.

@@Haanski i would guess purple winning the most would be due to the contestants they put in there. I could see the people casting for the show putting the better athlete of the kids in purple since purple goes last, and it would make it feel more fair to not have most athletic contestant in blue, winning the events before anyone else could. I can see red having a harder route, being right in the center, so in a rush, one could easily cross into the other opponents sides without realizing it.

I propose this for next season. 7 episode season. 6 regular episodes with scoring 300, 200, 100. Everyone gets 2 of each draft pick. Also make sure that every episode different draft order. So for instance each time Jake gets 1 pick, Jimmy will have 2 pick but then the next time Jake has 1st pick Joezack will have 2 pick. And same for the others. Then the 7th episode is CragOff. Pick order TBD by previous 6 episodes (silly tiebreaker if anyone is tied). Scoring of CragOff will have same points as the Crag points in an episode guaranteeing no ties at end of season.

My proposal is adding a prop bet to the game. They continue using the point distribution as it is now, but have a predetermined round ("round 3 is today's prop bet round") where each throws in 50 (or 100) of their total earned points into a "pot". Then each picks the order the colors will finish in that particular round. The order they pick in the betting round is the same order they used at the beginning of that particular episode. If someone accurately predicts the order, they get the pot of points. If no one wins, the points go back. By doing this, the final totals will begin to separate better than how it is now.
