Welcome to the family! I pre ordered mine as soon as they went live, and was placed in group 2. I took delivery of mine in July 2022 and I still use it even today. I bought it as a curio but I really like it, and I surprised myself as to how much I still use it. I have to say though, I am starting to experience issues with the crank. It works fine, but it's very loose now, and no longer holds its place when undocked. Unfortunately I'm not confident enough to fix it myself so i kind of just live with it. I don't use the crank too much anyway because my favourite and most played games don't use the crank at all. BTW you don't really need to to do this because it draws so little power in standby, but if you want to turn off the screen completely just hold the power button for 10 seconds or so

I play it every now and again. Pretty interesting. Games keep unlocking every week, but I still haven't played them all, lol.

I have a small use case for this thing. Today getting my car inspection or when I get an oil change fits nice in your pocket. For that the back light wouldn't be a problem. However, the price point kills me as with the case which seems mandatory if you want to bring it with you costs more than an Analog Pocket. I'm brining my OG Evercade will do fine. I enjoyed seeing you initial impressions and I hope you have fun with the device my friend.

I thought it was too much too and I was waiting for a price drop, but then they announced a price increase so I just bought it. You really can't compare it to other handhelds though... it's the only one with a crank, lol.

@CrowContinuum I do compare it to other handhelds as the crank isn't a selling point for me. Don't get me wrong, it's cool, but way over priced for what you're getting and the LCD isn't back-lit.

@@Evercade_Effect If the crank isn't the selling point, then there's no reason to get it. It's the only thing that sets it apart from any other handheld and just about every game I've seen on it so far uses the crank in some manner.

Im theorizing the prize is so high because they collabed with teenage engineering and they sell a tape holder for $60 and most of their devices are over a thousand dollars

that’s probably a part of it. I mean teenage engineering has killer design. But if this was sold and made by teenage engineering it would probably go for $400 lol

Cool. I got it (and possibly ordered it)around the same time. Got mine Saturday. I also ordered during that final week because of the price hike. Its a solid feeling system (I wouldn't want to get hit with it). I'm a little worried about the plastic handle on the tiny crank though It does seem well put together and thought out though.
