Brian, related to this, we installed a water filter at church for drinking water, and we used the included fittings for 1/4" quick connect. Unbeknownst to us is that those fittings can blow off and cause water damage. Our church kitchen was virtually destroyed, and we had to do mold remediation. The plumber replaced the plastic line with copper, and haven't had any problems since.

Thanks for the very imformative video TFIG. We just had an experiance with one of these valves. We bought a new refrigerator after our 22 year old model died. The water line to the fridge uses this type of valve. We paid for delivery/removal/hookup of the new fridge. The delivery guys refused to hookup the new fridge because of the flowtite valve. They suggested we contact a plumber to replace the vavle with a threaded one and then they would come back out. A complete dissapointment with the whole situation !

Thanks for this info. I was looking at how to remove the tubing on one of these but now I realize it's not possible because it's one piece. So for now I'll use the present tubing but will look for a plumber to replace all of the shutoff valves on the sinks and toilets. Actually, my house was built in 2017 and the washing machine lines were leaking, the plumber said all of these houses have cheap plastic valves. He had to cut into the drywall to replace them but big props to this guy for replacing the drywall piece perfectly. It made mudding very simple.

My house has these Accor press on valves installed. I just installed a bidet on the toilet, which uses a T connection on the tank. That has caused the shutoff valve hose to kink a bit more than I would like. Do you think there is any harm in rotating the press-on fitting slightly clockwise to take some of the kink out of the hose?

Thanks I have enjoyed your videos so far & have learned from you.I think those shut offs might be an rv thing because they are cheap I certainly wouldn’t want one in my house. The trailer is all Pex B & the shutoffs to the hot water tank are proper angle stops so I don’t know why this was used for the toilet.I better check when the season opens if those crappy ones are under my sinks. If so they are coming out.If there are proper stops under the sinks then someone made a bad repair.

Update: I had a huge incident this morning. One of my daughters came running in about 430 to 5 this a.m. yelling that the kitchen was flooding! And oh boy! Was it ever flooded! My hot water valve popped off. I don't know why it did, or how it did? But I did everything the video said to do that I watched for my exact kind. We did have to let the faucet drip over night bc of the temps getting to freezing points. Do you think by letting it drip over night that, that had something to do with it? Anyhow it is 1042a.m. as of now and I'm still cleaning water. I just hope and pray there isn't no water damange 🤦 if you have any ideas on to why it did this please let me know. Thanks a bunch!

Our house is over 25 years old with ACCOR valves on everything....never had leaks or problems so maybe it was a poor install or an idiot plumber who can't turn a wrench ...just saying. Can't say these are junk when they have lasted for this long my friend.... sorry....maybe people are screwing around with these valves causing failure.... Our pipes are the PVC not copper. For copper I would definitely use solvent angle stops but, again, these DO WORK . If you put it on wrong that's the fault of the person NOT valve....you can also put valves on copper/pvc incorrectly if you don't use inserts in the PVC or don't use the primer & cement correctly.....you wouldn't say the valves stink.... it's the fault of the installer. Again....25 years is a pretty good record in our case and removing them is easy.... I see videos where they didn't cut the line before turning counter clockwise which tells me they didn't read the instructions....makes me wonder if these people ever read directions on any product before attempting install....
