Catholic? Because of the part that the rock meant the truth Peter spoke, not Peter himself?
@josephmartin-alexgunduor23125 жыл бұрын
@@CezzyHaag because Jesus named Simon, “Kepha or Petra" meaning “rock". Rock isn't same as truth. Jon's message is beautiful but the intro downplays some scriptural truth. Matt 16:18, John 1:42 - Christ does not make meaningless gestures (From scriptures, God renames a person when he's about to change their status e.g. Abram, Jacob, Eliakim, etc.). So our Lord Jesus was not merely speaking figuratively about himself when he renamed Simon. He was significantly giving Simon a new role, a new authority and it was specifically directed to him. Even after his resurrection Christ reminded peter of this new role when he said: “Feed my sheep" (John 21:17). Searching Scriptures (especially the Acts of the Apostles), you'll see how the other Apostles recognized Peter's role as the head of the Apostles. I'm not trying to downplay the efforts made by Jon. Just trying to encourage that we stand for the truth as contained in Scriptures not our own opinion.

I don't know why you think you have to prove this to me, I actually already agreed about this.
@josephmartin-alexgunduor23125 жыл бұрын
@Cecily Haag oh well...it didn't seem that way. All good then. I still love Jon's poem anyway....My favorite.
@josephmartin-alexgunduor23125 жыл бұрын
Beloved, honestly your assumptions are not true. Why don't you get your facts right about Catholic Church first before you believe a popular lie. I recommend catholic.com for starters. Type in all you need to know and I hope you will take this serious. It will help you a lot.

I love you so much because God has gifted you with a wonderful talent of words and it is so apparent that you love Jesus with all your heart, your ministry and the work that you are doing is important but I obviously can’t agree with you on this video.... You can re assign the meaning of Rock all you want, you can find new symbolic meanings in the Bible to fit your own theology but at the end of the day there is only ONE truth and that is that there is only one true church and that is the Holy Catholic Church of Jesus Christ. The one that he established here on earth and continues to bless forever and ever. It has been alive for more than 2,000 years and it will continue to live out the original principles and true meaning of God for forever. Don’t fight truth, truth does not fear investigation- you can be as close as possible to the truth but unless you fully embrace the fullness of it, you will not be completely free: THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU ❤️FREE

Could you clarify for me your interpretation of “rock”?
@josephmartin-alexgunduor23125 жыл бұрын
God bless you Diana, you have just voiced my opinion about this video and all you've said is the truth. Never fight the truth. It can be investigated but can never be downplayed. The truth has been existing for over 2000 years and it has not died. According to Gamiliel in Acts 5;34-39, the truth cannot be overthrown.
@josephmartin-alexgunduor23125 жыл бұрын
Dear @@JonJorgensonVideos, with all respect and love you must understand that Jesus named Simon, “Kepha or Petra" and this means “rock". “Rock" isn't same as “Truth". And this is what your poem tries do assume. Your message is beautiful but the intro downplays scriptural truth as contained in Matt 16:18, John 1:42. You'll agree that Christ does not make meaningless gestures (All through scriptures you'll see that God renames a person when he's about to change their status e.g. Abram, Jacob, Eliakim, etc.). So our Lord Jesus was not merely speaking figuratively about himself when He renamed Simon. He was significantly giving Simon a new role, a new authority and it was specifically directed to him. Searching Scriptures (especially the Acts of the Apostles), you'll see how the other Apostles recognized Peter's role as the head of the Apostles. I'm not trying to downplay the efforts you make Jon. I love your poems but this is off. We must always stand for the truth as contained in scriptures not our own opinion. God bless you Jon!
