a Poor Things fashion analysis

I'm so glad to see someone unpacking the fashion of this film! The costumes were one of the first things that jumped out to me as an important part of the story and narrative structure. The leg o' mutton sleeve of the 19th century actually made a comeback during the 1890s, which is when I (in my best estimate) believe Poor Things is supposed to have taken place, or at least is suggesting a vague wave of the hand towards. When you mentioned Bella's wedding dress being early 20th century, that kind of reinforced my theory. Although I'm not convinced that Yorgos Lanthimos wants us to be so focused on the "when" so much as the "what". GREAT analysis!
