Our family went through the same thing. No tags on the zipper and it was new. Throwing away children’s blankets and toys they had since infancy was traumatic. This story was very accurate. Painful but appreciated.

I went through this but little version. I didn't throw away anything. I just threw away the mattress. I lint rolled my laundry and wiped down surfaces. Vacuuming is crucial.

I just got that problem and we didn't know that the bed had fiberglass we looked at each other wondering who in the world though it was a good idea to put that in a bed. I'm so upset

I'm dealing with the same problem. Literally everything this family is talking about is true. It's everywhere, on EVERYTHING!! You see it at night when you close your eyes! It's a living nightmare! We have thrown away 6 truck loads of furniture and every piece of clothing to our name! My kids itched for months and I didn't think it was anything serious until one night I had a flashlight out to look for something and noticed it all over us and my kids clothes and blanket. We had to throw away all clothes, towels, blanket, curtains, sheets...EVERYTHING that we can not clean. You cannot just put fiberglass infected things In the washer to clean, it won't clean, you have to throw it away! What's funny is I noticed shiny things on my bed before I ever took the cover off. I thought it was the elastic in my sheet but now I realize it was the fiber glass. I did eventually wash the cover bc there's a zipper and you would think its washable. I put clothes away in bags years ago before I ever noticed the fiberglass or took the cover off and I found fiberglass in those clothes when I recently went through them because I was curious of how long this was going on. We are apart of the nation wide lawsuit but will probably never get back the money we have lost and the sentimental things we have thrown away can not re purchased.

@@patriciacaballero8884 surprisingly no it wasn't. We did notice a lot of glass in the lent, I still hold my breath when changing it. Are you dealing with this? I might have some tips to help.

@@millerlovebug I’m dealing with this fiberglass situation. I haven’t come across with anyone that can tell me if they have to get a new washer and dryer. I called the place were I purchased my appliances from ( dryer an washer brought them maybe a month ago) they told me to just get new ones… like I just bought those and fiberglass just happened to us. I’m stressed I have a newborn and I’m unsure to do laundry here

@@patriciacaballero8884 When I first found out about the fiberglass our dryer lent was packed with fiberglass(take a flashlight and shine it on the lent and the fiberglass will sparkle) but as we started to clean our house and buy new clothes I started noticing the less glass in the lent, so If there was glass in the washer it would show up in the lent too. I would do a clean cycle to be safe though .

@@patriciacaballero8884 If you had this mattress I would get a bright flashlight and pet tape roller. The flashlight can tell you how bad It is and if it's in your clothes. The roller will help take the glass off your clothes but once you wash clothes that have a lot of glass on them the roller can't help you(the glass gets stuck in the fabric) I had to throw away 6 truck loads of clothes and other items. It was probably one of the most stressful times in my life!

*FLASHLIGHT TEST* I had to turn off all my lights and shine a flashlight on the material to see the tiny flecks and the tiny shards. I had read that in a comment I saw. Yeah I was really able to see where it was. But now I fear it is in fabric that I cannot see. I don't know how much more Linens I need to throw out I am just sickened by this whole situation

I discovered mold in my bathroom and furnance room where I would vacumm out the dust then I discovered exposed fiberglass in the intake vent area. I asked them to cover up the fiberglass and they refused. I had to relocate ti another apt because they refused to get rid of the moldy bathroom cabinets that are particle board and the moldy vinyl baseboards. I have itchy and inflamed upper body. The diff apt also has exposed fiberglass which still causea rashes, inflammation, itchiness, eyes, throat and lung issues.

Expensive Nectar Premier queen $1399 ....flecks and tiny shards came out if the sides of the encasement/ cover .. it's made of a jersey knit type material. I did not see Flex on the top or the bottom but it came out all around the sides. I never unzipped it or remove the cover. It got on the fitted sheets and on the mattress protector. I've got a contractor size garbage bag full of sheets after only sleeping on my mattress for four nights. I was completely unaware of all of this going on. I have shared it many times since this has happened. I am so sorry for everyone that is going through worse than what I have. I think it is horrible that these companies are not responsible for the safety and well-being of their customers. What is wrong with these companies???

I just went through the same fiberglass thing with a hole in my vent at my apt that I didn't know about then they cut a hole in the ceiling and dumped all the fiberglass out of the hole ...fiberglass everywhere!!! Had to throw everything away and still dust accumulating...anything I can do???

The worst part is you can follow the rules directly as stated on the tags and on the website and still get screwed by fiberglass. Currently struggling through finding out my mattress is dispersing Fiberglass despite never being unzipped. I always had it under a waterproof cover actually, nothing keeps us safe. Wish they would stop putting this material in our beds.

We use a waterproof cover as well and the one that’s on it already with the zipper is supposedly waterproof. My son has had several accidents on it and I’ll it quickly soak up the urine and then put baking soda on and then vacuum it up. The last couple weeks he has been sick with upper respiratory issues antibiotics didn’t help. he just doesn’t seem to get over it. Then today as I was cleaning another accident it hit me. What if I am bringing all the fiberglass up to the surface and air by cleaning/vacuuming his bed?! I’m going to toss it out today.

I bought a matress and it has a cover and it has a fiberglass cover on the inside!!! I took off the cover to wash it... and I washed it with our clothes and now we've been freaking itchy as heck... and come to find out... the fiberglass imbedded into our clothes!! 😭 my poor daughter... shes 2.... has scabs from scratching herself....

@Jesse A get a HEPA filter and shop vac. First move everything out of the room, preferably outside. Clean all that cam be salvaged with damp microfiber towels. Wipe the walls ceilings etc with damp microfiber towels. Vacuum with HEPA filter at least 2 to 3 times

Going through something similar because i took in a pregnant stray cat and she decided the perfect spot to give birth was right next to me as we were taking a nap and I had to deep clean my mattress because it got soaked during the birth and I wanted to clean the the mattress so I took everything off and it didn’t click in my head until today as I was outside that my shirt was soooo sparkly and then I noticed my mattress was too and then I remember iv seen some tiktok along time ago about fiberglass but in that moment I totally forgot and now I’m trying by best to clean up and find ways on how to clean up. Why was there a zipper and how is this even allowed

It's not the point of just stuff. It's thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars that we can't afford to replace. I've never even taken off the zipper and my entire house has it

@@connieleli7759 I understand. After it happened to us we lost so much. Sentimental things from departed family members, almost all of our clothes. I had to take weeks of of work to clean my apartment and a year later would still find it in random places. Just be sure to check that your next mattress doesnt contain any fiberglass to be safe. Im so sorry you're dealing with this issue

These mattresses were in impeccable condition and from a family I was comfortable with so that was not the issue in this situation. Normally, I would completely agree with you. Also the cover seemed to be washable. Thank you for sharing your story it has opened my eyes to the materials contained in a mattress. I can't imagine the expense you must be going through to address fiberglass. I am so sorry again.
