In a prolonged SHTF situation it will be the LITTLE things, like this, that will impact us in BIG ways. That is why I’m stocking my own SHTF hardware “store”.

Stock up for sure and use for barter. Also stocked the O-Rings for garden hoses. Have a great day!

If you have rubber spare parts (hoses) like this o-ring, make sure it is not exposed to the atmosphere. (ziplock) That alone will and is the usual cause of failure. A spare hose would also be a good backup. Broken o-ring, change hose now and replace o-ring later. This strategy works well if you don't want to stand in the cold replacing and o-ring in freezing weather. Great video!

I also have the hookup to go from the old to the new. We have 100# tank with the old style but the new style we ran into the wall of the house to the propane fireplace. I will grab some O-rings though thanks for the reminder. Good to have extra regulators as well folks. For those in extreme cold, if the propane wont work you can take the connection off and use a needle in the hole if you see any ice build up. It happened to me a few times this year. Maybe because of the new big tank IDK but better than freezing . I also wrapped the hose and fittings with pool noodles put an insulated jacket over it and through a blanket over it and it's been good since. Stay warm and safe all.

Really good information I've been using propane for years, I've seen them crack the o-rings but never had them totally come off. I use a silicone on them it won't break down the rubber compounds. But I will be picking up a few of the o-rings that's a great idea thanks so much.

Good morning MR. I’ll make a suggestion. I bought English and metric O-rings in packs of I believe 650 different size O-rings more than likely 10 different sizes or more but that’s how you get a kit. sets for $7.99 at Harbor freight. And I did check and they have this size. I think I have enough O-rings to last lifetime long as you keep them in the plastic containers they claim they will not crack, another great video for important stuff for people to have extras. For around $16 including taxes you be glad you did. Have a great day.

Thank you sir. Great information again on items that commonly get overlooked. I have been going thru my items and looking for what I need to stock for "spare parts" for the trucks, tractors, and common household items that we use every day. Still go by the 2 is 1 and 1 is none mentality. If the trade wars get going I'm sure that what was easy to get today will be a bit more difficult in the near future. Not a bad thing if it brings back made in the USA y'all just need to think ahead a bit. Have a blessed day.
