I met DT in 2014 before any of this. He made a large donation to the Elizabeth Dole Foundation after sitting in a small room of military caregivers, who were sharing the vulnerabilities of our families. He was incredibly kind, empathetic, and he genuinely cared about us. There was no stunt, no cameras, no gain to be had. I will never forget how important he made me feel.

I agree with Peterson. I think he does deeply care and I think traveling the country during his campaigns has shown him a side of humanity that he may previously have been distanced from and I think that has changed him in some ways. I think he is also just typical of men of his age. They do care, but they don't always show their mushy side. I'm sure he has to always be on guard.

Did people make fun of or act disrespectful to Mussolini and get away with it? Yup. Ettore Petrolini. Did Mussolini use humor in service of his political goals? Yup. Coarse and crude mocking and bullying was a hallmark of the rise of the Fascist squads in Italy, and bullying in a ridiculing, sarcastic, and denigrating way was a hallmark of the maintenance of power and maintaining Mussolini’s popularity. Glad to say that you're talking right up my alley Dr. Peterson; I didn't like Trump when I first heard of him through his TV show and I was able to say what I didn't like. Then he became president and I still didn't like him. Then I reseached what kind of person he was and came across testimonies of people who knew him personally or had benefitted from his generosity he never ever talked about publicly! Then I started to appreciate him, but still didn't like him or felt in the least attracted to his kind of personality. Then I came to the conclusion that he was actually rough, but honest, unpolished, but generous and big hearted, that he was not afraid of having smart and highly intelligent people around him (in contrast to most, especially public servant 'bosses' who prefer "Yah sayers" and semi idiots!). And finally his presidential track record: in my opinion he is the best man for the job in the weird times we are living in and may God bless and protect him.

The biggest argument against him as a businessman I've heard is always "he's had 6 bankruptcies!" Negating the fact (maliciously) he's been involved in over 500 business enterprises (directly or as an investor), rendering his success rate north of 98% - wildly successful compared to the average 50% success rate. People are so glaringly dishonest about him its insane.
@desolder752 ай бұрын
Is the average success rate 50%? I've heard the 5 year failure rate for new businesses is 90%. Regardless, 98% success rate is still wildly successful compared to the average.
@greebj2 ай бұрын
If you set the bar for success that low, any pretend statistic can be conjured. I used to work in scientific research and see statistics based on garbage assumptions every single day. His businesses have failed in many more ways than personal bankruptcy. Also we should note his success in court at proving election fraud is 0%.
@NoName-cx3gk2 ай бұрын
While it's true that Trump has been involved in hundreds of business ventures, the comparison often overlooks a key point: if he had simply invested his inheritance in the S&P 500, he likely would have made significantly more money without the bankruptcies or legal troubles. Yes, a 98% success rate sounds impressive, but the scale of his bankruptcies-like the failure of his Atlantic City casinos-had major economic impacts, affecting jobs and investors.
@christinadacruz4202 ай бұрын
Businesses sometimes use bankruptcies intentionally to make more money.
@alexandregoulart.terapeuta2 ай бұрын
Actually, most entrepreneurs counts more business failures than successes. Some of these failures going all the way down to bankruptcies. It comes with the territory. One must try and try, recover from failures, until finally learning his/her way to the first success. If Trump really has this success rate, he's very good. Those who blame him for 6 bankruptcies don't know what they're talking about - provided they were not fraudulent ones. But it doesn't seem to be the case.

He then challenges the one of the most well connectedand funded politicians of our time, Hillary Clinton. He went from a clown to the most powerful clown in the world. He is then conspired against by his fallen does who accuse him of being a traitor and every kind of criminal. Trump spends 3 years being attacked at all times for errors he did and did not make, peaking in a global catastrophe for which he is blamed. Trump is replaced by the closest ally of Obama and Clinton. Trump should be defeated. If he faded away, he might be rehabilitated like George Bush and forgiven for challenging power. The atracks on Trump didn't end because he did not surrender. They fine him, threaten him with jail, defame him as a rapist, brand him a criminal.
