The new stadium is just half a mile down the road, so the pubs could have a future with the bfc supporters. (Unlike the Hammers pubs around Boleyn Park. You feel such pity with Hammer fans to leave such an intimate stadium for the horrid Olympic stadium).

As a Charlton fan, when in England I would always go to Griffin park to watch the Super Bees play, when my lot were playing to far away. I always had a soft spot for the bees and loved being able to park up with no hassles and wander in and sit/stand wherever I wanted. I have some wonderful memories of going to Griffin park and always loved the humour, banter and love/loyalty the Brentford fans had for their club! I hope they take a step further this season and make the big time and stay there for a bit! Good luck and thanks for the memories!

Find it hard to believe that you can go out with the players at the end of a season. At least at a professional club. That is fantastic. What a brilliant thing to have! Hope Brentford fans can have that experience for many years to come. We're only fortunate to have experience as our club is semi-pro. The start of season cocktail parties is fantastic fun. This music is amazing. Fantastic showcase of a fan culture which is just the way it should be. Great work. But sad to see Griffin Park gone. I managed to get there once, got a ticket for the standing terrace and it was amazing. The fans around me welcomed me (as a german "tourist") and it was such a great thing to be able to stand in an english stadium. It is the right way to watch a match when you want to be passionate, no doubt about it. Bring standing back man, look at the atmosphere in other places like Germany, it has got something to do with being able to stand

Joined the supporters club 1964/1965 all over England in the coach what great times we had. Only player I can remember by name was Mark Lazarus he played for QPR as well which was a local derby then. Loftus road ... what a dump compared to Griffin Park.

If you can find it read "Griffin park brentford" from "the soccer syndrome"by John Moynihan, fantastic book of essays on English football published in 1965.

Would've liked to have got down to Griffin Park, but the away end is so small I could never get a ticket. As a Leeds fan, the only people squeezing into an end like that are the ones that go to every game. Maybe we'll meet again and I can try my luck with the new place

Now this is ideal. No menace, no win-at-all-costs die harders.. just a cool, warm spot in outer london with open arms no matter what corner of the planet you're from. edit: yeah, and about the whole london irish share.. some of my best mates are rugby supporters and I don't mind it being their home too, heck it's just another reason to go see 'em on the odd weekend. so irish are on a good run of form as well, and I wish it to continue for all the years to come. g-luck to everyone
