I totally agree about the “communal experience” of seeing a film in theaters!! I remember the first time that feeling really *clicked* for me was the moment that Han and Chewie stepped into the Millenium Falcon in the new trilogy and the theatre LOST IT! It was such an incredible moment to experience with so many other people
@DanLayton3 жыл бұрын
And that moment is still wonderful if you watch at home! But there’s an energy and an electricity that builds from the act of getting up, travelling, buying popcorn, sitting down, hearing the first notes of the score...it’s just on an entirely different level! It’s why we watch sports at the pub.

3 things : 1. Yes I love this refreshing new take with a fancy q&a I love the topic shifts to answer the questions without needing the individual questions but to answer questions in the topics in more of a thought process on the topics. Loved this! 2. Yes to a makeup videos with the talk about makeup. I am sooooo here for that! I think seeing these sort of videos would be incredibly important, interesting, and with you doing it also fun and creative and I honestly couldn't want this more! (I am a woman who didn't wear makeup until I was at college and even then it wasn't a lot and it felt soooo foreign to me to begin with over lockdown and lack of practice I seem to have lost those skills I acquired and would love to re learn with someone relatively new to the game.) also I'm bi and love people of all genders and expressions and I think that makeup is something that should stop being stigmatized and stereotyped as 'a girl thing' I think this is a series that would be immensely important to make and I couldn't think of many yt creators better to do them. Would absolutely love to see (also free idea: would be quite interesting to see someone describe the makeup application process as they do it on their own face and see how you go following their instructions/what they are doing as you do different looks for the first time.) 3. Cinemas vs watching films at home. I love both. I am an introvert who hates going outside and prefer the comfort of my home and watching things on my own but I still crave that connection of common feels and discussions about what I've watched which you cant always get / can't get as well as you can at home. I have friends who cant focus as well if it's at home so its lovely when I can watch things with them in the cinema. But also just the general crowds reaction there is nothing like laughing as one to the same thing and sharing that with more than just the people you went to watch the film with. I do love people watching and once when I watched the 2nd Kingsman I saw a man clearly only go there for Elton John cos he was dancing to his songs and laughing heavily at the Elton John parts but his reaction to the rest of the film was great and he was having the best time (he looked like he was in his 80s and he warmed my heart) that's a memory that I always remember when I see the film and I love it. I couldn't get that sat at home. I have a Limitless card and love going on my own or with friends and altho I've loved watching stuff at home over lockdown and getting to enjoy things on my own. I also really miss the joy and anticipation of watching a film at the cinema I dont miss the journey there and back or the difference in comfort and compared to watching at home but I miss the common experience you feel with the audience watching. As well as missing theatre and concerts sooooo much! I can't wait for that again. I think there is a big place for both and hope that it will find those ways to continue! Finally, so maybe actually 4 things; Thanks for this video. It honestly cheered my crappy day so thank you for existing here for us to see and for shining your creative light and sharing your brilliant self here on the internet

You know, for someone who loves acting, there is surprisingly little acting content on this channel. Why? I'm sure we would all enjoy it. A small, few-minute something, from classics whose copyright is long expired, or something improvised which you thought of yourself or picked your favourite from the ideas of your audience, with a split screen / cutaways or just a monologue - I would definitely watch any and all of that.

I don't really do new years resolutions either. Though I will reflect on what I accomplished in the last year. Also a thing I have found that really works for me is rather than tracking what I want to do, I'll write down one or two things that need to be done in that day/month/year keeping it very limited then as I accomplish things through that time I will write them down creating a list. Just like there is a thrill from checking something off there is a thrill in adding to the list BUT if the day comes to an end without much done It doesn't feel bad in the way an unfinished to do list does. Thank you for the video and sharing some things with us.

On Tuesday/early Wednesday, it felt like after the months I'd spent volunteering first for the general election and then the GA Senate runoffs, we could finally pause and celebrate - and then the terrorist attack happened at the Capitol, which is only a mile away from me. It was awful both in a nationally/globally significant way and a way too close to home way. I've been especially in need of comforting things during the past few days, so I really appreciate this even more than usual.

Streaming should definetly work along side cinemas. It allows people with full time jobs / single parents to be able to watch the film at a time that suits them and still be able to participate in conversations. I remember being a sad child in high school because I was never up to date with the popular films because my anxiety meant that going to the cinema wasn't an enjoyable experience. It also means people with autism / need subtitles can watch on release without having to go to stupid timed screenings.

my friends and I are finally caving and talking about how much we miss each other (I think we were trying to avoid it before because it felt so...pointless, I guess?) and have decided that when it's safe, we just want to go to one person's flat (they have the biggest space with a big sofa bed that we pull out when there's lots of us over) and just like...lay on each other and stare at our phones for hours. we don't even want to /do/ anything, we just want to be near each other again
