Modern 4 cylinder turbo cars are underrated. People who want manic power will buy something else, hell even a Euro built Commodore 4 cylinder turbo will get you in trouble easily as far as 0-200 goes.

I did a lot of miles with this engine. It sounds like crap, but gets the job done. Quite fuel efficient on the highway and country roads, but can be pretty thirsty in city driving. If you don't want or need the power it's fine for everyday driving, but do not kid yourself that it's "almost like an inline 6".

How is the torque down low? I know that use-able torque is generally an issue with the NA 4 cylinder platforms but considering that this one is turbo'd I wonder. I test drove a 330i executive line (one with the b48) a while ago and found the torque to be sort of lackluster. Compared to the NA g6e I drive now, the torque of the g6e is way more useable and definitely packs more of a punch. I'm asking because I don't know if something was wrong with that 330i and I have heard many things about being able to push that platform to some pretty crazy hp and torque specs.

Depending on the gear your're in/speed etc. sometimes it feels very "torquey", and sometimes just meh...The NA definitely has a more linear power/torque delivery, in this the torque seems to come in "waves". For example where I did felt the torque is at highway speeds when you need to accelerate it really has a nice pull without having to downshift.

These mid size sedans are the perfect size for a car imo. I'm just about to sell my VE SS because it's too big. I'm replacing it with a e90 3 series with a 6 cylinder engine. And yes, im going to miss the LS.

To be honest, the design of these new BMWs grew on me a lot. Also, I guessed the 0-100 to be 6.5 so not bad for my prediction, but that is seriously impressive for a car with 190kw.

For a “base” model sedan these brand new are way too pricey, around the 100-120k mark, that’s overboard when you can buy a used full phat M car from the previous generations for at least 40k cheaper. I bought a Sonata N Line for 55k, it’s a fantastic package right out of the box, if that car had a BMW badge slapped on it you can add another 30k on the price tag, comes from factory with a 2.5T 4cyl with 213kW 422Nm and it absolutely rips hard and surprises alot of cars on the road, from a dig due to FWD and lack of an LSD it struggles to put the power down as the car cuts half the torque as it goes to 100 in roughly the same time as this but from a roll it is an absolute weapon.

Sad reality a new M3 is like 200k 💀 I agree it’s expensive but there are some people who have a stupid amount of money I guess 😅

Good looking car but way too expensive, this should be around the 60k mark, I don’t know who would fork out 6 figures for a 190kW car when you can pay half the price for say a brand new Kia Stinger GT that has alot more power, BMW are kidding themselves for pricing this close to a M car.

for the money i would pay a few extra bucks for a 440i or 540i the b58 is a better engine also the merc C class is nowhere near as good as the BMW or audi equivalent models the 9Gtronic transmission is garbage any vehicle merc dump it into is instantly ruined can't beat the zf 8hp

I'm sure it's amazing to drive - but I can't get past how ugly I find BMW's current exterior design language. It's a car I just would not want to look back at in the parking lot - and for me that makes it a miss.
