It's all since the late 90s, when shareholders had less power (and decisionmaking) within the brand, focusing less and less over the years (until nowadays), until we reached a point where you see a 75k car that is just not worth it. Quality control use to be the pinnacle of automotive industry in the 90s, and sadly those days are gone, changing interior high quality noble materials (wood and aluminium in physical buttons to just name a couple) for plastic and tablet shaped screens, and fake exhausts. Same goes once you get under the car, older mercedes used to be overengineered and built to last. And is not only Mercedes. BMW and Audi are doing the exact same thing, also overusing the horrible piano black (aka cheap plastic) in their interiors as well.

Used car prices are not indicative of the value of the car, lol. What kind of nonsensical statement is that? Modern cars are incredibly advanced pieces of machinery which degrade with use. Of course theyll cost less when used. They have lost potential use time. And depreciation is the dumbest argument. Cars depreciate because theres little demand on the used market, not because the cars are bad or not worth their original price. The used car market is several orders of magnitude smaller and less valuable. People who buy used are rarely willing or able to pay up the costs of new cars. What some broke bum is willing to pay for a Merc is not the value of that car.

The CLE is a modern interpretation of the con that was the CLK and C207 E-Class coupe, which means Mercedes can charge more for what it actually is. The CLE is priced as an E-Class coupe, but it’s based on the C-Class’ version of the MRA2 platform, not the E-Class’. Which is why space is tight for what is being marketed as an exec coupe, why it has the same interior as the C Class and why the interior quality is shocking for an exec (well, shocking for a C Class too). The CLK and C207 E-Class were the same, exec priced and marketed coupes based on the smaller C-Class.

It drives really well better than c-class for sure. sporty and luxurious at the same time. I ended up replacing my E-Coupe with it. As for the screen, once you get used to it, it’s hard to go back to horizontal ones, especially for navigation. And the Burmester sound system is incredible, especially if you use the MBUX Apple Music app with Dolby Atmos.

Here's an idea for Carwow. Low mileage vs high mileage of the same cars, raced in pairs in several categories. Sporty diesel (335d maybe). Hot hatch (140, A45, S3 etc). Supercar (whatever high mileage one you can find, ex trackday experience huracan vs low milage one maybe). Petrol barge (S8, 760i etc). Sporty SUV (X5m, SVR etc). Also...hear me out... cars which share the same engine but are available in 2wd or 4wd... where is the advantage. 4wd drive train loss on the 50mph roll race?

We all saw that the New M5 is slower than the Mercedes-AMG GT63s E-Performance. If not, go to Throttle House, where they race it against the E63s and Audi RS7 Performance
@GrandSil9026 күн бұрын
It's also about 100K more than a new M5. It better be faster. The new M5 beat both the Rs7 performance and the E63s. You know, the cars that it compets with

$100k+ and approx 120 more hp OMG very shocking result 🤯🤯
@mephistovonfaust26 күн бұрын
At those performance numbers I couldn't care less. I'd much rather drive a slower W204 C63 than any of the following C-class AMGs even if they are a lot faster. One is a German muscle car the newer models are glorified disappointments and get worse with every iteration.

@GrandSil90 You BMW M fans said in the past when the GT63s E-Performance arrived, let's wait for the upcoming Hybrid M5, it's will dust this GT63s E-Performance Now the M5 is here, You are complaining that the 63 it 100K more 🤡

Wifes loves hers, traded her 18 C43 AMG for one. Not my choice but she finds it more refined, comfortable, better fuel economy over her old twin turbo. Better technology , a bit larger inside, more compliant ride. She agrees some of the interior plastic is not as nice as previous but she loves it none the less. Its styling is nice and the ride is really nice. However I am a battery car guy so to me its archaic still

The car is at best an upgraded C-Class. The E Class Coupe is by far the greatest car Mercedes has made in the last 15 years. The dimensions were perfect, the details were excellent, the car felt like a boat yet drove elegantly. I will take the £75K and buy 4 different colors of the E Class Coupe. Such a huge shame they discontinued it.

@carwow so the car you are driving actually has MBUX Assistant in it. So what that does is it picks up what you are saying when you talk to the car. You don’t need to say „hey Mercedes“ and it will try to recognize and fulfill your needs. That’s why when you talked about the visibility it talked about the weather. It will not intervene once it recognizes that there are other passengers in the car or when you are on the phone.

There is a difference between Android and Apple users. I haven't quite figured it out. I have always been an Apple and recently was forced to use an Android device. Horrid device. I don't understand the concept. You're going to help me figure it out. This is a real nice car. I have not been interested in Mercedes Benz vehicles since late 300E, W bodies and an S class here and there. It's just premium. The Mercedes info device voice is gold standard. The pronunciations are outstanding. The snoz on this vehicle is fantastic. Aggressive and forward. The German word for yield on the Autobahn. A proper German designed this car. Cheap plastic bits. Snarly engine. Love the over engineering.
