Hey Tiffany! Loved your video on the impact of covid 19 (I’m also an Asian American). I was wondering if you could maybe do a follow up video on the impact of covid 19 on future school professionals? I’m about to start a MS program for school counseling and am curious if any current grad students have any advice for incoming grad students. Schools look so different now and may look different in the near future and I’m wondering how that will impact fieldwork during grad school and employability in the future as our economy recovers. Just wondering what your perspective is and if your program has touched on that topic at all. Thank you for your content! 🥰

After we came back from our honeymoon, it continued to die even after several different interventions 😭I've repotted, put it in the shower, cut some leaves... after three months, finally decided to chop it off and put it in water hoping it does something

Hi Tiffany! I was wondering if you had to do an interview before you got accepted to the program? If so can you make a video about what the interview entailed. I have my interview next week and I'm freaking out (just a bit) lol

Hey Jacqueline! Congrats on the interview! I would love to make a video about grad school interviews, and specifically for school psychology. My top advice (if I don't get the video out in time) is to be confident, study up on the specific program and field (they will probably ask why school psychology or why this program), and prep answers to generic questions. I think having a few stories with specific examples really help with the interview because they help explain your personality and experiences in a compelling way. Telling my own story also helps to calm my nerves because they're my personal experience and perspective and no one can dispute that. Hope this helps and good luck!!❤️

Hi Tiffany! I am planning on taking a gap year before applying to graduate programs for school psych. Unfortunately, it looks like covid-19 will narrow my options on ways for me to improve my application. Do you have any recommendations for job or volunteer opportunities I can take advantage of during this pandemic?
@TiffanyLee4 жыл бұрын
This is a really interesting topic and unfortunate obstacle that so many people are facing right now. Though I hope schools will be more understanding, I totally understand how you still may feel pressured to do something- anything to beef up your resume. I think online teaching or tutoring is still a really good way to gain experience with children. I've also found some online volunteering sites like 7 cups which is a therapy service. They're looking for volunteer listeners and provide training and certification before you get started!

Hi Tiffany! I have been planning on applying to school psych grad programs for about a few months now. However, the more I research the job satisfaction of school psychologists, the more discouraged I become. The majority of school psychs on the Internet (mainly from reddit) say that they dislike their job for various reasons. Do you have any thoughts on this or any words of encouragement?

Hey Sarah! I’ve seen some school psych threads with varying responses regarding job satisfaction. The job is definitely NOT for everyone. I also think there are huge differences in stress levels depending on where you work. If you’re passionate about supporting children and families in this capacity, I would shut out the negativity (while still taking in practical advice). If you’re really struggling with this, I suggest reaching out to some school psychologists around you for a brief chat/interview! Hope this helps!
