This video is basically completely accurate to the finished version of Pictomancer. The biggest thing I missed was about the two shield oGCD's. The red shield is a personal shield on a 120-second cooldown, but if the shield is fully consumed then the recast time is reduced to 60 seconds. Once you use the red shield, you can use the green shield to convert it into a smaller party-wide shield. If that shield is fully consumed then the cooldown is reduced to 90 seconds. These abilities also share a cooldown, so it's either 60 or 90 seconds. Also, buffs on the landscape are correct, the ones I missed were a party damage buff and the fact that the circle reduces your cast times. Thank you for watching!

2:26 I am pretty sure they said that the 5 stacks (Buff is called Installation in Japanese) have something to do with cast times. They either make 5 spells instant cast OR maybe they reduce it by a flat amount such that white spells are instant while black spells take as much time as a white spell. The buff names in Japanese in 2:19 from left to right are: Imagine Sky (probably the actual buff itself) Star Prism available (This enables a use of the instant attack that rains the stars, that attack also seems to heal you for a portion of the potency) Subtractive Palette available (probably the thing that lets you flip colors?) The fourth one's name does not show up on screen, at least in the footage in this video. Installation (5 stacks) The draw actions are called "Picto" and the ones that USE the drawn things are called "Imagine ". For the creature, it seems you have 3 stacks of the Imagine OGCD? So I assume you use your black/white spells as you wait for these to become available, and then unleash the creatures. Another thing is that the hammer attacks are all guaranteed direct crits.

Oh my god, thank you SO MUCH. It was frustrating watching a certain other content creator's 'explanation' on Pictomancer, which was just using all the lingo that Yoshi-P used in the liveletter, which is so damn hard to follow, and wasn't edited with helpful visuals to help retain the spoken information more easily. 4:38 : the 2nd summon from the completed creature mosaic seems to be called Madeen - which i found was a summon originally from ff9.

Madeen in FFIX was disguised as a moogle for a while, before revealing their true self to save the summoner Eiko. Hence turning the moogle portrait into a Madeen portrait.

Madeen which is the second form of the moogle, was Eiko's Mog's true form and mog changed into madeen to protect Eiko and became a summon in FF9 And yes its confrimed to be madeen, both Yoshi P and the translator called it Madeen

Putting this here cause it’s fun to see how these may change upon release but the names of your 1-2-3 combos- Normal combo: Red fire > Green Aero > Blue Water > White Holy Inverted: Cyan Blizzard > Yellow Stone > Magenta Thunder > Black meteor Personally I hope they remain named similar after translation as the reference to RGB and CMYK is a neat touch.

wonder if picto is gonna gave some kind of triple cast or something since its raid buff and its movement tool (the hammer) required non damaging cast. could just be like dancer where the payoff is so strong it justifies the build up

let me explain to you every tank, healer and DPS for current and future jobs. you just pick one of those jobs and stick with it. ive never seen an mmo that has alot of jobs that are virtually the same just looks a little different depending on what you chooses. there is no real point in getting excited about this game anymore. every expansion is the saaaaaaaaaaame with a new coat of paint. i guess people like huffing that new paint smell.

What wasn't mentioned is the channel time to paint your canvas mid-battle. Those are instant casts out of battle like Reaper's Soulsow - Harvest Moon skill

From the look of it, you will cast more than RDM and summoner, from 28 actions the job has only 5 (the 5-second-long cast time flower rainbow field one became instant during raid wide buff after 5 cast) of them are instant cast, and the white holy one seen to be a DPS loss. Furthermore, 12 of it are 2 seconds or higher in cast time.

​@@pumpkin2474 Well it's like, 2/8 are instant casts (3/9 if white is stronger than base combo). 111, Swap palette, 222, dark hit. And you build up an extra white charge every time you do that full rotation. So 5 pocket instants for most of the fight. Less than summoner, and I was confused by the hammer because Yoshi put emphasis on the movement, but it's an oGCD

The hammer is not an ogc, it's like a rdm melee combo but with range. Now all we need to know it's the potency, so r we looking to go hammer time during burst or just use it so that we don't overcap and when u need a movement tool

⁠​⁠@@arieltorres3594There's no RNG to the weapon/hammer motif. It seems like the hammer hits will always be direct crits on every attack. You can see that in the live letter when Yoshi P. is showcasing the job, with every hammer hit.

5:27 left one is a party defensive buff, probably reduces magic damage. Right one seems like self-defense buff, maybe when hit in short time increases their paint gauge

Really great breakdown! I assume the red shield is a self mitigation similar to Summoner's shield, and the green shield will be an AOE to shield everyone around you probably. Still trying to figure out what pictro's rotation is going to look like juggling canvas combos and paint combos.
